1) The document discusses different types of hearts mentioned in the Quran - those that readily accept guidance, those that are distracted by worldly matters, and those that are fearful of Allah.
2) It describes how the Quran has humbled the author and increased their appreciation for Allah's mercy and power.
3) A hadith is presented about sins blackening the heart and how repentance can clear the heart, while persisting in sins increases the blackening.
3. What Do These Stones Refer To In This Ayah?
• The first type of heart which rivers gush forth. This is a
person who accepts a solution without hesitation when
there is a fight, calamity or war. Like Abu Bakr when
the Quran came he accepted it without hesitation.
• The second type of heart which is split asunder so that
water flows through. This person is very distracted and
cares much about the worldly life and it takes
something shocking to happen for him to accept. Like
Umar ibn khattab he wanted to kill the Prophet then he
found out his sister was a Muslim and slapped her so
hard her nose bled then he accepted the truth.
4. The Third Type Of Heart That Falls Down Out Of The
Fear Of Allah:
• This is the person who does everything a
Muslim should. He does his Salat, Fasts, and
gives Zakat, but he never tasted the sweetness
of Iman and this is the heart that takes the
longest to understand.
5. My Personal Connection With The
Quran:
• The Quran has touched my heart in many
ways, one of which it has made me a humble
Muslim. It has also made me realize the mercy
of Allah, and His Kindness and Power.
7. Why This Ayah Stands Out To Me?
• This ayah is very powerful to me because it is telling
me about the ignorance of the disbelievers. They had
so much pride that the Prophet Nuh said :” If you leave
them they will lead astray thy servants.” What did I
learn from this ayah? Well, nobody is perfect, but we
can become better we need to strive for what we need.
For example you want to become a doctor you have to
study work hard and get a degree. It’s the same with
Iman you want to become closer to Allah you have to
strive make time to praise Him read His book and call
on Him with his names. May Allah make us one of
those of Paradise and not the those of the Fire.
• Ameen!
8. Finally I would like to close this presentation with a
hadith from surah Mutaffifin from ayah 14:
9. The Hadith Regarding This Ayah:
• Narrated by Abu Hurairah Allah’s Messenger (PBUH)
said” When a slave ( a person) commits a sin ( an evil
deed) a black dot is dotted on his heart. Then if that
person gives up that evil deed (sin), begs Allah to
forgive him, and repents, then his heart is cleared (
from that heart covering dot) but if he repeats the
evil deed then that covering is increased till his heart
is completely covered with it. And that is Ar- Ran (
covering of sins and evil deeds) which Allah mentions
in the Quran.
10. What This Hadith Makes Me Feel?:
• It makes me feel the mercy of Allah and at the
same time his punishment. Allah will help, but
only if you have the humility and humbleness
to ask for his help for verily He loves his slaves.
• Thank you for your time.
