2. Jannah :The Eternal Abode
• "Allaah has promised to believers - men and women - Gardens under which rivers flow,
to dwell therein [forever], and beautiful mansions in Gardens of everlasting bliss. But
the greatest bliss is the Good Pleasure of Allaah. That is the supreme felicity [or
success]". (9:72)
• "...and those who obey Allaah and His Messenger will be admitted to Gardens with
rivers flowing underneath, to abide therein [forever] and that will be the supreme
achievement". (4:13)
• Allaah (swt) in this hadith qudsi: "I have prepared for My righteous slaves that which no
eye has seen, no ear has heard and has never crossed the mind of any human being".
Then the Prophet (saw) said, "Recite, if you wish: "No person knows what is kept hidden
for them of joy as a reward for what they used to do". (32:17)
• The joys of Paradise are far greater than the pleasures of this world, which pale into
insignificance in comparison.
3. Jannah : Al-Firdaws
• Jannah al-Firdaus is the highest degree of all, it has as roof the throne of Allah
(swt), so the most beautiful over the 100 levels that encompass the paradise.
• The Messenger ofAllah(saw) said, “Paradise has one hundred levels and
between each two levels is a distance like that between the heavens and earth.
Al-Firdaws is its highest level, from which four rivers of Paradise flow and above
which is theThrone. When you ask from Allah, ask for Al-Firdaws.”
• In another narration : Mu’adh bin Jabal (radiyallahu anhu) said: “I heard the
Messenger ofAllah say:’…If you ask ofAllah, ask Him for Firdaws.'”
5. So, what are those six tasks?
Most certainly those Believers have attained true success:
1. They who are during their prayer humbly submissive
2. And they who turn away from ill speech.
3. And they who are observant of zakah.
4. And they who guard their private parts. Except from their wives or those their right
hands possess, for indeed, they will not be blamed – But whoever seeks beyond that,
then those are the transgressors –
5. And they who are to their trusts and their promises attentive.
6. And they who carefully maintain their prayers –
• Those are the inheritors.Who will inherit al-Firdaws.They will abide therein
eternally.”
6. 1. Achieving khushu’ (concentration and humility) in our prayer
• ‘And seek help in patience and al-salaah (the prayer), and truly it is extremely
heavy and hard except for al-khaashi’oon …’ [al-Baqarah 2:45]
• Prophet (saw) said: “Five prayers which Allaah has made obligatory.Whoever
does wudoo’ properly for them, prays them on time, does rukoo’ properly and has
perfect khushoo’, it is a promise from Allaah that he will be forgiven, but whoever
does not do this, has no such promise – if Allaah wishes, He will forgive him, and if
He wishes, He will punish him.”
• Ammar bYasir(ra) reported’ Verily the servant prays a prayer of which nothing is
written down for him except a tenth, ninth, eighth, seventh, sixth, fifth, quarter,
third or half of it(the reward).
