1. In what ways does your media
product use, develop or
challenge forms and conventions
of real media products?

2. • My media product challenges form
and conventions of real Rom
Coms because of many factors.
One factor is the character that we
have introduced in the opening
scene. Rather than having the
female protagonist being portrayed
as a beautiful femme fatale. She is
seen with her hair up wearing
jeans as she is in college which
goes against convention as the
female protagonist is supposed to
look sexy which attracts the male
characters towards her.
3. • Instead of having three females fighting
over the male protagonist it is the
opposite way around. This goes against
convention as it is usually the female
characters fighting for the male
character's attention.
4. • Majority of teenage romantic comedies
tend to have characters who are white
however we have chosen to use black
actors instead. This challenges convention
and we chose to do this as it would be
more appealing to our target audience.
5. • We developed conventions of
Chase’s character as he is portrayed
as a “Bad boy” The way he speaks
and acts develops this as well as his
costume and ear piercing.
