League options are Badminton, basketball, cricket, curling, dodgeball, Jui Jitsu, indoor soccer and volleyball and are managed by the Student Association. Date Learning OutcomesPurpose and DescriptionExperience Student Association 2011 - 2012 Executive Member Indian Student Association The Indian Student Association increases awareness of East Indian social, cultural and traditional values on campus by hosting many events throughout the year. Executive members oversee all club initiatives. 2011 - 2012 Club Member Punjabi Panthers The Punjabi Panthers is a dance group that focuses on bhangra dance style. The club will work towards creating a team of dancers that represent the campus Indian community well. 2011 - 2012 Club Member Hindu Youth Network The Hindu Youth Network is a religious club that will help students who practice and believe in Hinduism find an inner circle. It will also educate others about Hinduism, its rituals and the meanings behind the practices and festivals.
- 2. 2012 - 2013Club Member UNICEF Unicef DC UOIT serves as a chaper of UNICEF Canada. UNICEF is a non-profit organization that funds health-care, immunization, nutrition, education, clean water and sanitation programs for children in developing countries. This chapter will raise awareness and fundraise for UNICEF's global mandate and mission and educate students on how they can help students around the world. 2012 - 2013 Club Member Punjabi Panthers The Punjabi Panthers is a dance group that focuses on bhangra dance style. The club will work towards creating a team of dancers that represent the campus Indian community well. 2012 - 2013 Club Member The Right to Play Right to Play is a club that holds events on campus to raise funds for the Right to Play foundation that provides children living in poverty with sports equipment, allowing them to still enjoy thier childhood through play. 2012 - 2013 Club Member Rotaract Rotaract raise funds and awareness for various causes both local in the community and at an international level. Our aim is to promote better relations between all people worldwide through a framework of friendship and service. Volunteers assist in providing relief to victims of natural disasters and con#64258;icts and to help prevent and respond to local and global emergencies. The members of the organization will raise awareness within student's faculty and the community about the humanitarian issues in accordance with the fundamental principles of The Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement. These fundamental principles are:humanity, neutrality, independance, voluntary service, unity and universality. 2013 - 2014 Executive Member The Right to Play Right to play will host events, fundraise, and donate money towards Right to Play Canada initiatives to improve knowledge and learning opportunities for underprivileged youth. 2013 - 2014 Club Member South Asian Student Association SASA unites all South Asian students on campus through events and get-togethers. 2013 - 2014 Club Member Punjabi Panthers The Punjabi Panthers at UOIT/DC are a non-pro#64257;t organization widely known amongst the South Asian Community. The Punjabi Panthers have #64258;ourished over the years to bring together individuals, preserving the South Asian culture while adapting and living in Western society. Working alongside 100 members, Punjabi Panthers wishes to broaden its base by reaching out to students or various ages, backgrounds and ethnicities. Punjabi Panthers is open to the celebration of multiculturalism present at UOIT and DC while promoting and enhancing the South Asian Culture and network.
