A film, also called a movie, motion picture or moving picture, is a work of visual art

12. Some history of filmmaking in Cambodia
In the early 1920s, documentary films were made in
Cambodia by foreign producers.
During the 1950s, films were made in Cambodia by
producers who studied abroad.
In 1966, King Norodom Sihanouk released the film
Apsara, starring Ream Bopha Devi.
Since the 1960s, many productions have started to
grow.
In the 60s and early 70s, when the Cambodian film
industry was booming and cinemas were born
Growing steadily and with the flow of film
screenings in the city and in the provinces
throughout Countries such as Kandal, Kampong
Cham, Battambang, Kampot and so on.
On April 17, 1975, the film industry passed away.
The film industry was revived in the 1980s after the
fall of the Pol Pot regime on January 7, 1979
It also collapsed again in the late 1990s after an
unrestrained invasion of foreign films.
Cambodian films also made a comeback in mid-
2003 after protests against Thai video stars Neang
Kob called the morning star and it died again from
the end of 2006 to January 2011

Music is vocal or instrumental sounds combined in such a way to
produce beauty of form, harmony and expression of emotion.
Pitch and rhythm are the most important things for music, and how it
differentiate from speech.

In the early 1920s the traditional string-band music began to record
commercially with Fiddlin’ John Carson garnering the genre’s first hit record in
1923
Small radio stations appeared in the larger Southern and Midwestern cities in
the 1920s, and many devoted part of their airtime to live or recorded music

obviously focused on dancing (funk and hip hop).
In the 1960s, two bands especially illustrate the development of
rock; the Beach Boys and the Beatles (Pet Sounds, Pepper’s
Lonely Hearts Club Band)
In 1970s, Disco came out of New York and it was everywhere.
The movie “Saturday Night Fever” (1977) was central in
spreading the disco.
In 1981, United States started MTV with an explicit focus on
white rock music

The sound of music has changed as society has changed over the
years, thus the change in the sound of music is really a reflection of
our cultural evolution.
More musical instruments were developed and played together
which resulted in more sophisticated and complex sounds being
produced. The beats, rhythms, tempo and lyrics of songs all changed
along with the change in cultures.

It is a significant component in religious and traditional ceremonies.

Cambodian’s life and culture as well as religious and traditional
ceremonies. Also, Mohori and Arak.
