1. MEET THE FUTURE
EDUCATOR
Name and Surname: Nyeko Malatji
GEOGRAPHY AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHER
Myself
Am a 20 years old female from the dusty villages in Limpopo, Tzaneen Town but
currently residing in Meadowlands Zone 11. I am a third year student at the University
of Johannesburg, studying towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Education under Senior
and FET phase, majoring in Geography and Physical Education.
Am an outspoken person and easy to talk to, I enjoy watching cartoons and cooking
on Sundays. I work best as an individual and as a group and I try to be a punctual
person as possible as I can because “time wasted can never be regained” that is my
motto.
The kind of Educator I want to be in the future
Helping students understand concepts that affect their lives and everything around
them is especially satisfying, because being a teacher is also having a rewarding day-
to-day job since their understanding of the universe has just been opened, and that
gift of understanding can never be taken away and as a teacher I am the beacon of
2. hope as I help learners to reach their own dreams even though I am not a fountain of
knowledge.
What makes me wake up every morning?
The Grace of God and the family I come from, the fact that I come from a poor
background encourages me to keep on going so that I can have a better life being
raised by a single mother with three siblings it’s not an easy thing the thought of
what are we going to eat tonight is never bearable so I wake up every day to work
hard and complete my degree so that I can help my mother and ensure that my
siblings do not undergo what I went through. At the end of the day “I did not choose
to be born in poverty but I can choose where I want to be in future”
