1. Best Face Masks for Your Skin Type
When it comes to skincare too many of us are overwhelmed by the sheer amount of products
available. With claims to hydrate and purify, there is no way that all of these products will work
on each of our individual skin types, so it is important to know which products you should and
should not be using. So we are here to help you discover what are best face masks for your skin
type.
2. Sensitive skin:
If you have sensitive skin you will want to use gentle face masks that will not irritate your skin.
There are a number of cool and calming masks you can use and if you keep them in the fridge
you will benefit from an extra cooling effect. The best face masks here include Simple Kind to
Skin Deep Cleansing Mask if you are on a tight budget, or Anne Semonin Soothing Essential Oils
Intensive Complex if you can afford to pay a little extra.
Oily skin:
Those of you with oily will benefit most from using clay masks, which remove excess oils without
drying the skin. They also provide a deep clean to your pores and help to clear up and prevent
any unwanted blackheads. There are a number of different face masks designed for oily skin, we
recommend you try Dr. Hauschka Cleansing Mask Clay Jarwhich helps to absorb excess
sebum and impurities.
Dry skin:
If your skin is dry you will benefit from rich, hydrating masks, particularly those that can be left on
overnight. These will really sink into the skin and help rejuvenate it if it is dehydrated. Our
favourite facial mask for dry skin is Clarins HydraQuench Cream Mask.
If your skin is dull or lacking radiance your best bet is to try an exfoliating mask to help invigorate
dull skin removing any dead skin cells on the face. Alternatively, you could try a facial mask rich
in vitamins and essential oils such as Decleor Source D'Eclat Radiance Revealing PeelOff
Mask.
Mature skin:
For mature skin you will want to use a face mask that is packed with antiaging ingredients to
hydrate and plump the skin. You can either opt for rich, moisturising face masks or firming
masks, designed to tighten and lift the skin. Our favourite here is the Elemis antiaging Pro
Collaen Quartz Lift Mask.
Spotprone skin:
If you are suffering from a few blemishes try a clay mask. These help to clean the pores, picking
out any dirt and grime buried deep in your skin. These kinds of masks are best applied in or after
a shower or bath when your pores are open and the heat helps to activate the mask. Just make
sure you rinse it off thoroughly to avoid blocking your pores further. We recommend the Clinique
Anti Blemish Solutions Oil Control Cleansing Mask as the best face mask for this skin type.
Combination skin:
If you have combination skin you will want to treat the different parts of your face accordingly. An
oily Tzone for example, would benefit from a clay mask which works by absorbing excess oil on
the skin . As as an added bonus, clay masks can also open up the pores and clear blackheads.
One of our favourite clay masks is the Natio Clay & Plant Face Mask Purifier. Your dry patches
of skin however are lacking in oil so should be treated with a rich hydrating mask to restore the
skin’s natural oils. We recommend the Clarins cream mentioned above for these drier patches
