ANNATTO SEEDS
DEFINITION:
They are mature seeds of the spice Bixa orellana. These seeds have been selected, removing
impurities and faulty grains, to bring the desired quality to our clients.
PHYSICAL-CHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS:
Humidity (Moisture): From 12 to 15 %.
Fungus: Absent.
Bixine: 1,5 a 3 %.
Ethereal extract: Minimum 4 %.
Impurities: Less than 1 %.
ORGANOLEPTIC CHARACTERISTICS:
Color: Strong brick red.
Smell: Aromatic characteristic.
Taste: Characteristic.
Appearance: Fresh seeds.
Quality analysys are done under the quality rules credited by: ITINTEC 209.200.
PRESENTATION:
Annatto is packed in 50 kg polypropylene bags.
ANNATTO POWDER
DEFINITION:
This is a product obtained from the mature seeds of the spice Bixa orellana. These seeds have
been selected and grounded to arrive to our clients with the desired quality.
PHYSICAL-CHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS:
Humidity (Moisture) From 10 to 14 %.
Bixine: 2 to 3 %.
Impurities: Less to 0,5 %.

Color: Strong brick red (exempt from artificial colourings).
Smell: Aromatic characteristic.
Taste: Characteristic.
Appearance: Fresh fine powder.
PRESENTATION:
