• It is a unit or service dealing with the supply
of professional sterile and non sterile
supplies to different departments both to
specialized units as well as general wards
and OPD.
• It is an integrated place in hospital that
performs sterilization & such actions.

lightinglevel, Easy material passage to
work stations & Separate Storage Area
for sterile supplies.

determination of number,type & size

4. Space allocation: It depends upon the
size of hospital and that of the sterile
room. The space should be enough for
disassembling,sterilizing,assembling
equipment and for storage.
