Chapter 1 Project- 100 points
                              Create Your Own Government
                              Due: Wednesday August 29th
Each group will create its own country following the guidelines listed below. When you turn
the project in, all components should be stapled or bound together in a presentation folder.

Description of Component                                                      Points
Page 1: Basic Info Sheet:
-Name of Country                                                              10 pts.
-Location of Country
-National Colors- description of what each color represents
-National Mascot- description of what your mascot represents
-National Motto
Page 2: National Anthem:
Write lyrics to your country’s national anthem. The lyrics should reflect     10 pts.
the ideals and values of your country’s government system. Must be at
least 8 lines long.
Page 3: Flag:
Design and create a flag that represents the values of your country. Your     10 pts.
flag should include the national colors of your country.
Pages 4: Plan of Government:
At least 1 page (typed double-spaced 12 pt font Times New Roman)              50 pts.
description of your government system. Your plan of government should
address the following issues:
-What type of government is this (Monarchy, Oligarchy, Democracy, etc)?
  If you’ve chosen Autocracy or Democracy, what specific type (refer to
  You text book for help).
-How will the people in charge of running your government be chosen
(presidential election, parliament election, birth right, etc)?
-Which economic theory will you follow (Capitalism, Socialism,
Communism)?
-Will you have a Unitary or Federal System?
-Which Purpose of Government will be your highest priority (think of the
purposes from the preamble)?
Page 6: Laws:
Create a list of at least 10 laws that you think would be the most            10 pts.
important to maintain the order of your country
Presentation:
Each group will present their project to the class. In the presentation you   10pts.
should share your basic info, your national anthem, the design of your
flag, and a brief explanation of your plan of government.
