arrangement of shots that seem out of
place or confusing compared to
continuity editing

4. JUMP CUT
• A transition between two shots which appear to
‘jump’ due to the way the shots are framed in relation
to each other
• Object may appear to move to a position we don’t
naturally expect
7. FREEZE FRAME
• When a single frame of content shows repeatedly on the screen –
freezing the action
• resembles a photograph
