Geography trip: Iceland (10th-14th February 2016)
Dear parent/ guardian,
I am writingtoupdate youon the current situationwiththe Icelandtrip,asafew amendmentshave happened
since the meetinglastweek. Withinadayof announcingthe trip,we filledthe majorityof placesandhave now
expandedthe triptotake 40 students. We wouldlike tothankall parentsforsupportingwhatwill be avaluable
experience foryourson/daughter.
We can nowconfirmthat the total cost of the tripis £630, andthisfigure now includestwoadditional excursions
and returntransportto HeathrowfromForestHill School. The paymentschedule isoutlinedbelow:
 £100/£200 depositpaidby 17th
July2015
 £200 2nd
paymentmade by 23rd
October 2015
 Remainingbalance paidby 5th
December2015
We have nowissued studentswithapaymentcardandthis card isthe receiptfortheirdeposit. Whenthey
make future paymentstheywillneedtopresentthiscard topupil receptionwithpayment,whowill signitand
returnthe card to the student’sgeographyteachertobe returned.
Returncoach transferbetweenForestHillSchool andHeathrow airporthasnow beenconfirmedandaddedto
the trip. We will advise youonpickup andcollectiondatesnextyear. We have alsoaddedtwoadditional
excursionstoourvisit. ThisincludesavisittoHellisheidi PowerPlant,the largestgeothermalplantinthe world
and a trip to the ‘EyjafjallajökullErupts’Visitors’Centre.
To ensure thatyou are fullyupto date on all of the tripinformationwe have setupa blog. On thisblogyouwill
be able to access all informationthathasbeenpassedontoyourson/daughter,blankcopiesof anypaperwork
that needstobe completed,the tripitineraryandotherkeyinformation. We will alsoupdate thisblogduring
the trip withphotos.
