2. nvergence been used and how do the digital versions link to the print/ TV/
The first thing when you enter the website is the below image. It is
instantly encouraging the audience to ‘listen & watch’ and therefore
engage with the video version.
Once you enter the main website the first section
is a list of music videos (above right), which
shows that the artist is actively encouraging the
audiences to watch her videos. Then, when you
click on ‘more videos’ it takes you to Lizzo’s
official youtube and tries to make you subscribe.
3. How have they created brand identity?
There is a clear brand identity through the colour scheme, font and
images of Lizzo. She is currently promoting the one year anniversary of
her song ‘Cuz i love you’ so that is featured frequently throughout the
website.
A lot of Lizzo’s brand is also about body positivity, loving yourself and
being confident and there are lots of images of Lizzo looking happy
throughout the website to support her star persona of being confident.
4. Is intertextuality used?
Other than the frequent references to her single ‘Cuz i love you’ I can’t
identify any intertextuality within the website.
5. Have they used any Easter Eggs and where do these lead
to?When i first searched the website it took me to a smaller website which
had ‘enter site’ at the bottom and then once you clicked that there were
interactive pictures that moved with the mouse and there was more
content.
Also, the ‘more videos’ link making you subscribe to her youtube channel
is like an easter egg as it was surprising to be taken to youtube as opposed to
6. What values, attitudes and beliefs have been used?
The website is in keeping with Lizzo’s brand of body positivity as she uses
her album cover of her naked as the main picture all over the website,
which was initially not allowed on some platforms but she is showing that
she likes the picture.
