2. Definition Of Culture
Culture is the characteristics and
knowledge of a particular group of
people, encompassing language,
religion, cuisine, social habits, music
and arts
3. The Sum total of learned beliefs, values and
customs that serve to regulate the consumer
behavior of members of a particular society.
5. MATERIAL CULTURE
Material culture refers to the physical objects, resources, and
spaces that people use to define their culture.
These include homes, neighborhoods,
cities, schools, churches, synagogues,
temples, mosques, offices, factories,
plants etc.
6. NON MATERIAL CULTURE
Non‐material culture refers to the nonphysical ideas that people have about their
culture, including beliefs, values, rules, norms, morals, language, organizations,
and institutions. For instance, the non‐material cultural concept
of religion consists of a set of ideas and beliefs about God, worship, morals, and
ethics.
In non-material culture we include
non material objects. For example
religion, art, ideas, customs, values
system, attitudes, knowledge etc. it
does not have physical shape.
7. COGNITIVE COMPONENT
The cognitive component of attitudes refers to the beliefs,
thoughts, and attributes that we would associate with an
object. It is the opinion or belief segment of an attitude.
8. Belief in Almighty different types of religious
festivals and superstitions are the part of
cognitive culture.
9. Normative Component
Not all cultures are the same, they vary from
society to society, what may be right for one
group of people may be considered as totally
inappropriate for another group.
10. Beliefs, norms, attitude, behavior etc. are the part of
normative component. These factors are used to
differentiate one person from another.
11. SYMBOLIC COMPONENT
Symbol defines as "anything that carries a particular
meaning recognized by people who share a culture"
A symbol is a language,
gesture, sound or anything
that stands for some other
thing.
