Project3:First DeploymentofNetworkRail TrafficManagement System.
Description:
First deployment of the Network Rail Traffic management (TM) solution is taking place at two Route
Operation Centres (ROCs), ultimately for National roll-out. This part of the project is for First deployment
only. For this phase of delivery the TM systems will be deployed at Cardiff for the Wales ROC and at
Upminster the IECC control area is being re-controlled to the Romford ROC (in London). Essentially the
work is a re-control of two existing traditionally controlled signalling areas.
Responsibilities:
 DesktopCorrelation of SignallingplanS1224/2/2 with Omnicom video usingPVF software.
 Correlationof SchemeplanS1224/2/2 withVDU screens.
 Prepared correlationsurvey report for signallingplanS1224/2/2.
 Updated signalling planS1224/2/2 as percorrelation survey report.
 Produced scheme plan, drawing no 15-GW-016/05 using correlated plan as the base plan.
 Producedschemedesignlogfor140394/STG/15/GW/016/05.
 Update Scheme plan and Signalling Design log to Initial review and MSRP comments
Project4:Swindon AreaSignalling RenewalProject.
Client:MGB EngineeringLimited(U.K.)
Description:
Swindon Area Signalling Renewal (SASR) project was a part of the Western Main-line Signalling Renewal
(WMSR) Programme and renewed the signalling equipment in the Swindon Area and re-controlled it to a
new workstation at Thames Valley Signalling Control Centre (TVSC). And with other WMSR projects, it was
an enabling project for the Great Western Main-line Electrification (GWMLE) Programme, provided a
signalling system which is AC immune. In addition this project installed the Return Screening Conductor
(RSC) and provided a common earth (in line with the immunisation strategy).
Responsibilities:
 Designed circuits for interfacing, data link modules with track side function modules, cabling for
track side equipments like TPWS, AWS, Point machines, Axle Counters and circuits of Point
Machine for driving, locking and detection for new SSI locations as per inputs such as Location
Area Plan, scheme plan, Cable core plan, Axle counter schematics, Cable schematics, TFM
schematics & DLM schematics.
 Delivered the followingLocations Design:
SWM085D058
SWM078U060
SWM090D040
Project5:Norwood Junction Signal T22
Client:Network Rail (U.K.)
Description:
T10 Signal which was positioned on a separate post, and applying to movements off of the Fork Arrival
Road to the left of the ULBS, there was a perceived advantage in moving T10 signal onto the existing
gantry immediately totheleft hand sideof T22, the intentionbeingthat this wouldenable drivers approaching
on the ULBS to accurately count across to the Fork Arrival Road to the left and so better “place” T20 to
the right, eliminating the suspected underlying cause of reading across from T22 to T20.
Responsibilities:
 DesignedNorwood JunctionSchemePlanusingPlanSoftware.
 Prepared Correlation Pack under theguidance of Team Leader.
 Done Detail Design ofNorwood Junctionlocationcases. Alterationinclude:
 Shifting of Signal T10 from existing position to gantry.
 Converting Filament light of Signal T10, T20 and T22 into LED operations.
 Changing the position of T20 TPWS (Train Protection Warning System) as per the standard and
done required modification in the circuit.
 Done alteration in the interface wiring of relay room.
 Involved in Relay Rack Design and Cable Termination Design
Project 6: Tattenham Corner Sidings
Client:VolkerFitzpatrickLimited (U.K.)
Description:
Tattenham station was a terminus near Epsom horse race track. The TOC Southern Railways required the
existing 3No sidings, adjacent to the Up Line, to be removed and replaced with a single track capable of
berthing 4no 5 car units of 377 rolling stock with a distance of 2 meters clearance between each and the
buffer stop located at the end of the track. Provision for 15 meters of stand back was to be provided when
calculating the overall siding length.
Responsibilities:
 Designed Tattenham Scheme Plans ofStage 1 & Stage 2
 PreparedCorrelation Pack.
 Prepared Scopeof Correlationand Final Project Specification(FPS).
 Done detail design to convert the sub signal of T608 from filament type to LED operation and
changed the position of platform 1, platform 2 and platform 3 TPWS OSS’s of buffer stop as per the
Standard.
 Prepared SignallingDesignSpecification(SDS).
 Involved in the power calculation
Project 7: Port Talbot East
Client:ARUP (U.K.)
Description:
Signalling works required to support the Port Talbot Peripheral Distributor Road (PDR) and provided road-
over-rail bridges in the vicinity of the Corus Margam Steelworks. The new Port Talbot PDR follows a route,
which intersects the South Wales Main Line (SWM2) and the Ogmore Vale Extension (OVE - Port Talbot
Docks Line) and was proposed to cross these lines via two road-over-rail bridge structures. Overbridge B3
was constructedtoreplacetheexistingCefnGwrgan Bridge across theSouthWales MainLines. Overbridge
B5 was constructed to enable a new Corus access road to be routed over the OVE line.
Responsibilities:
 Updated the CAD files according to the tester pink sheets.
 Modified Location Area Plan of Port Talbot East.
Project8:Shepherd’sBush Station SDO.
Client:Network Rail (U.K.)
Description:
Alterations was required to the existing Selective Door Opening (SDO) system at Shepherds Bush station
as part of the West London Line Train lengthening project. The work was to design, procure, install and set
to work alterations and additions to the SDOsystem so that it is compatible with new eight car operations.
Responsibilities:
 Designing Power Supply circuits for feeding newTrack Link Control Panel in nearest location.
 Done Detail Design for new SDO’s.
 Prepared Scopeof Correlation.
 Done CorrelationUpdate.
Project9:Uckfield Line Train Lengthening Project
Client:AmaroSignalling(U.K.)
Description:
The project scope was to increase the platform lengths on all stations between Edenbridge Town and
Uckfield. It was proposed to provide station capacity for 10-Car, Class 171 stock, with passive capacity for
12 car Class 377 units at the stations.
Due to the above work, signaling equipment’s was affected such as shifting of signals, AWS, TSS, Treadle
and Locations.
Responsibilities:
 ProducedUckfieldLine SchemePlan.
 Prepared Bill of Material.
 Done PowerCalculation.
 Downloaded thedocument from eB.
