DUCTLESS - UNDERSTANDING VRV / VRF SYSTEM
• VRV (variable refrigerant volume) and VRF (variable refrigerant flow) are two different
terms for the same technology
• VRV is a trademark of Daikin Industries, Ltd., all other companies that copy this
technology refer to it as a VRF system.
• technology that circulates only the minimum amount of refrigerant needed during a
single heating or cooling period.
• Once a user turns one of the indoors "ON" by its local remote, the outdoor "gets
noted" regarding it, and starts working. At this point, it will examine the outdoor
conditions (temperature), the operating indoor requirements (operation mode, set
point temperature), and will operate the compressor at the exact level, required to
comply with the indoor requirements.
• When another indoor unit is turned on, the outdoor recalculates the requirements
from all the indoors, and will increase the compressor's output, according to the
required level of demand

According to the previous investigation, the heat load calculated for Rajiv Gandhi Institute
of Technology mechanical dept is as follows, adhering to the below data provided detail
study of different air conditioning system available in market and comparison of the same
on various parameters were studied, and final systems are selected for the desired
objective which is concluded in the following report.
