MIT Buddy Program
New place, new environment and new teaching
styles can be both exciting and challenging. In
order to ease this transition, MIT provides a
Buddy Program designed to make the transition
into MIT Sydney as enjoyable and rewarding as
possible for our new students.
The Buddy Program commenced on March 13th,
2017, when a group of 7 current senior students
(Senior Buddies) were matched with over 100
new MIT students (Junior Buddies).
Since then and for the past four weeks, Senior and
Junior Buddies have been meeting on a weekly
basis for a coffee or a chat in the campus. These
meetings are providing an informal and relaxed
environment where new students are able to
query matters at MIT and beyond.
A Message from Lily, MIT Sydney
Student Representative
Lily is our Student Representative on the Student
Experience Committee for 2017. Students are
welcome to contact her for any feedback. Let’s
hear it from her:
Welcome to MIT Sydney to all newcomers
and returning students!
I am Truong Thien Ly Le, or as simple as Lily and
am from Vietnam. I am a senior student
undertaking master degree of Computer
Networking at MIT Sydney campus. As much as
my excitement as a representative of Student
Experience Committee (SEC) at MIT Sydney, I am
delighted to be there for you and for us - MIT
Sydney student community. Apart from the
variety of student services offered at our college,
SEC is founded to bridge the communication gap
between us and the institution management. I am
here to listen to your opinion, your concerns, and
to ensure the message reach the right audience to
enhance your experience at MIT Sydney. Please do
not hesitate to contact me via
mit150967@stud.mit.edu.au or approach me on
campus to voice your ideas.
“Together we can create a better learning
environment for not only ourselves but also our
