I am pleased to provide a letter of support for Ming Xie. I have known Ms. Xie for two
semesters as a student in my Foundations of Policy Analysis course as well as a subsequent
Policy Formulation and Implementation course. These are both core courses in the Price
School Masters of Public Policy curriculum with approximately 25 students in each section. I
have had the opportunity to get to know Ms. Xie well.
She consistently exceeded expectations on her assignments, engaged enthusiastically in
small group work in class, and was a quiet, but thoughtful participant in our larger group
discussions. Her comments demonstrated her logical incisiveness, analytic skills, and that
she prepared well for class each week.
Ms. Xie’s coursework is thorough and insightful, which makes me believe she would be a
strong candidate for your position. She was motivated, open to new ideas, and able to clearly
identify the theoretical foundations of complex arguments. In the year I have had an
