I’ve enjoyed getting experience with a variety of grade levels and different groups of children. At both of my
last sites, I collaborated with 3rd

grade to better serve the students in my fourth grade classes. I also
have been very active in taking Professional Development courses throughout the year and summers. I have
been a member of several committees, as well as coaching the track team, and organizing the school talent
shows.

As a fourth grade teacher, I have provided my students with explicit direct instruction for all

students with the foundational skills needed, while also focusing on increasing the rigor of their
content. At this site, we focus on the whole child, and ensure they are in a safe, respectful, engaging,
challenging, enriching environment.

Fourth Grade Teacher
As a fourth grade teacher, I provided my students with rigorous direct instruction of English
Language Arts (Pearson), Mathematics (Houghton Mifflin and Common Core, ELD, Science
(Houghton Mifflin), and Social Studies. Ramon Garza had a strong ELD and low income
population where providing a safe learning environment was pivotal as well providing the extra
educational support was needed for those students to succeed.
