Upward Bound and Urban Biking January – May 2013
Upward Bound is a program designed for first-generation college-bound high school students from
educationally and economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
2. Collaborated with San Francisco Bike Coalition to obtain donated bikes for each student in the
class.
Collaborated with local bike mechanics to implement a basic bike repair and safety course in
an urban setting.
Designed and implemented a multi-subject bicycling education curriculum with Upward
Bound.
Collaborated with fellow capstone students and Upward Bound.

Crew Leader – Youth Conservation Corps, Yosemite National Park, CA June – August 2012 and 2013
Guided 15 to 18 year old adolescents in park maintenance
Mentored adolescents through community building, conflict resolution, and encouraged
personal reflection to cope with the struggles of living away from home.
