5. Factors that Contribute to Equity
Each of the four branches are factors that
contribute to the levels of equity that exist in
the classroom.
One example is the idea of support from
teachers. If a student does not feel uplifted
and/or believed in by the teacher, that student
might be more inclined to doubt their abilities
or simply refuse to put in any level of effort.
However, if a teacher supports each learner
and creates a safe classroom environment,
students will have a greater chance for
success.

an equitable classroom!

7. Reflection
Google Slides can help share digital resources for learning because you have the ability to embed a variety of
media into the program so that a lesson can be complete and located in the same area. It minimizes the transition
time in a classroom from one task to the next. Just through completing the module, I was able to learn the variety of
ways I can utilize technological tools to aid student learning. There is a variety of mediums that can be employed.
Because they will be at our fingertips, we will be able to incorporate more into our lessons. Additionally, the slide
show can be shared with students so that they can have it in front of them while the lesson is happening, if there is
access to computers, or the slides can be shared with the students so that they can take it home with them and
practice more and review the material further.
Google Classroom helps to promote curiosity and critical examination because it allows students to revisit things
that have been used in the classroom. It promotes learning past the classroom as so many of the resources on
Google Classroom can be accessed at home.
The benefits of Google Slides include live editing. So if there is a change that needs to be made on the lesson, the
teacher can make that change and it will appear on the student’s version as well. There is no complication of
uploading the most current files. One of the challenges of using this platform is that if students do not have access
to the level of technology that some schools have, many of the embedded activities would not be successful
because it requires student access to technology.
