1. Dear Hiring Manager,
After recently taking some time off to be with my family during my wife’s high-risk pregnancy,
taking care of her and my two children of two and five, and recently welcoming my third, a
healthy baby girl on March 14th, I am ready to get back into the workforce and I am looking to
join a company that shares my passion for exceptional customer service.
I have a diverse background, having managed in several industries, all the while developing a
strong set of skills, becoming an expert in each of those industries. I worked my way up into
management positions with Barnes and Noble and HEB, and have held positions with other
companies as a store manager and general manager, where I have been responsible for all
levels of the business, from staffing and inventory control, to direct and indirect P&L
management.
I take pride in always leading to provide exceptional customer service. I lead by example, and
manage the individual for success. I believe in a team atmosphere and I believe that everyone
should have a stake in the success of any business. I lead with one goal in mind: to provide the
best possible experience for every customer that walks in the door.
I have enjoyed this time off, and it has been a good time to recharge my batteries and prepare
for the next phase of my career. I am taking the time to find the right company where I can drop
my anchor and be a valuable leader. I hope that you will take the time to look over my
credentials and will realize that I can be a worthwhile member of your team.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Best Regards,
Matthew Culberson
