Dear Sir/Madam,
I wish to apply for any full/part time jobs you may be currently advertising or to
be considered for any full/part time jobs which may become available in the future.
Please find enclosed my CV for your consideration.
As you can see from my attached CV, I have experience working with people and
providing great customer service, and I believe the knowledge and skills built up during
this time makes me the perfect employee for your company.
I am a highly skilled and academic individual who has an eye for detail. I set very high
standards for the work that I do and I will not rest until these high standards have been
achieved and all of the work expected of me has been completed to the same high
standards. I am a resourceful and hardworking individual that could bring a lot of great
qualities and skills to your organisation and from there could adapt and improve on
them and discover new skills with experience. I was a member of the Army Cadet
Force (ACF) so I can therefore act upon tasks quickly and effectively with no questions
asked, I also take great pride in everything and always aim to do everything to the
highest standard. These, coupled with my huge enthusiasm, makes me confident that
I can bring a huge level of success with me to your organisation and help you build
upon your great reputation.
I obtained a great set of GSCE results and currently hold an average 97% attendance
for the current academic year. Those in direct, long-term contact with me have
described me as an enthusiastic, well organised, polite and friendly individual who is
keen to succeed. In addition to this I have also been described as the ideal student
and an excellent ambassador for the college in recent college reviews with a lot of
praise from members of the senior management team, I could clearly bring a lot to any
organisation.
I am keen to learn new skills, develop and progress. I work well with people of all ages,
this has been shown with positive relations with teachers and fellow students alike, not
forgetting the wide array of customers in my current job. I have a great ability and
enthusiasm to lead if so required.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hopefully meeting with
you to discuss my application further.
Yours sincerely,
Daniel Michael Callaghan

EmploymentExperience
House of Fraser (Stores) Ltd. – Sales Advisor (Sept 2016 – Present)
My latest job at House of Fraser (Stores) Ltd. is to work as part of a team to provide
excellent, VIP customer service to every customer that comes onto the sales floor whilst also
keeping the exceptional House of Fraser standards high and to the standard that our
customers expect whilst working alongside my line manager.
I am a Fire Warden for my sales floor effectively giving me the responsibility for customers'
and fellow staffs lives' in the event of a fire, In addition to this I am refreshing my First Aid
training to become a First Aider for the store.
I am also responsible for meeting personal targets on a shift-to-shift basis with relation to
gaining store card applications, meeting order in store sales targets and up-selling the
products in my sub-department of Hand Wear and Luggage which I am responsible for.
British Home Stores (BHS) Ltd. – Sales Associate (Nov 2014 – Aug 2016)
At BHS I was (mostly)responsible for providing point of sale customerserviceto the customers
to ensure that they were 100% happy with their visit to the store on that occasion. I was
responsible for maintaining the store management's standards and expectations with relation
to the visual appeal of the store in order to gain maximum footfall, this was all the more
important whilst the company was in it's administration phases before the closing down stage.
In addition to this I also had to actively sell credit cards to the customers. I received a great
appraisal with very little room to improve, especially with customer service, the same has to
be said about my separate, service review. I have also developed other skills such as money
handling skills as I process hundreds of transactions per shift and have cashed-up on several
occasions.
During the 'wind-down' of the company I played a particularly prevalent role in my support for
the store management team and indeed the regional management team successfully bringing
my 'home' store to a close, I then cemented my commitment to the company and workers and
offered to help another nearby store through the difficult weeks ahead by bringing not only
experience of what was to come but also the skills to reduce their workload.
I was then asked by the Regional Manager to travel through to yet another store to support
them through the closing down procedure by managing the sales of the fixtures and fittings
which was possibly the hardest part of the closing down workload. I would've accepted the
offer to go through to one of the last remaining stores after that if it was within a reasonable
distance but it unfortunately wasn't.
