1st Journal
Date: June 23rd.
As soon as I entered into the classroom students asked who I was. So the teacher
explained that I was going to be there several classes and some classes it was I who was
going to teach them.
They said hello to me and that was all!!!
I expected they asked me more questions... but it did not happened.
The class began straight to the point. Students had to present some posters as regards
their ideal city They were dealing with the topic “My City” there is - there are.
So students in groups presented their posters.
The students were quite messy. All of those who had prepared the poster wanted to be
first, so the teacher had to calm them down and ask several times to sit down. Once they
were organized she was calling the groups to come to the front.
The 1st
poster was “Andres polis”
The boy who was describing it apparently attends private classes.
But as he was talking the class was messy again. Ss were talking about irrelevant topics; I
could listen to some of them talking about the break.
The teacher was at the front listening to the student’s presentations. She was constantly
asking for silence.
So the class went on this way, some students went to the front to show their posters and
the rest of the class was listening.
Some boys at the back went on talking. They looked like they were not interested in the
class.
The teacher was the one who put tape to stick the posters and this took a few seconds
which were very useful for students to start talking.
The last of the groups presented a kind of built city. It looked very nice.
As regards the students there was one boy called Mafias who was very noisy. He
attends private classes so he was the Know it all, and for him everybody’s posters were
“una pavada”. The teacher asked him to be quiet a lot of times.
There is another boy called Andres. He is very negative. For him all the posters were
horrible and his was the best. He seems to be very selfish because he prepared the
poster alone and called it Andreshopolis.
To round up the class the teacher congratulated the students and said the posters were
beautiful.
I noticed that the class was about to finish and the teacher was going to give the students
a copy but she didn’t because the bell rang and all the students left the classroom
without saying goodbye. They just left.
I felt comfortable, but the class was really messy. I hope they behave better when I teach
them. Otherwise I will feel frustrated.

As soon as I entered the class there were two students asking something to the teacher.
Apparently they had some doubts as regards a task.
A late students arrived. He always arrives late.
The teacher began the class by giving the students a copy of a text with some empty
spaces. There were also pictures so they had to replace the pictures by words. There
was written : In my town there are (and there was a picture of a cinema ) for example
for students to write in singular or plural.
Some students did the activity very quickly and finished but for others it was more
difficult.
The late student was still getting the things out of his bag.
Outside there was a terrible noise and music. They share the internal playground with
Kinder and today they were celebrating the birthdays so the noise was very loud. Even
though we close the windows and the door.
The fast finishers started to speak among themselves about the break, the shop or some
pictures of the Copa America. So the teacher clapped her hand to call for silence.
The class was a bit noisy, not as noisy as was last week.
Once all finished the text, the teacher wrote some questions about it on the blackboard,
again faster students finished quickly and they stood up in order to be corrected.
This boy Matias was constantly making questions constantly even though he knew the
answers ( I was sat with him) .
So once they have copies the questions, as some found difficulties, the teacher explained
again and called Matias to help her.
The questions were like this :
Where is …..? for this she mimed as if she was looking for something (it worked)
How many ….? So as she was telling how many … she was counting with her fingers.
How many..) one , two three …
For students to remember the meaning of how many .
But it took a lot of time.
Fast finishers began painting or drawing things they had hidden under the desk, the
teacher Did not realized because she was busy attending others. Children are
accustomed to calling the teacher so she goes to their desks.
Then she wrote the date. It was 2 o´clock.
She said she did that because the other was an activity from last class!!! ¿?
So she wrote an activity to round up the topic because the next class I am going to be the
teacher there at the front, she said.
So she draw three circles: jobs – places – prepositions
And some words for students to classify inside the circles.
Among the words was “baker’s” a student asked what baker was so the teacher
said: it ‘s “Milani’s” or “Todo Rico”. They are two well known bakers in Dorrego. This
is important the use of the background.
Some students did not finished copying. I am afraid of that I will have to bring everything
printed, because for some students it takes a lot of time to copy, or they do not see, or
they claim they do not understand the handwriting.
She wrote in handwriting and in block letter - sometimes she mixed.
When it was quarter past two, she called me to the front for me to speak with the
children. I told them that I am doing an experience so that for the following 6 classes
I will be there at the front. They clapped and the bell rang.
I think I will be comfortable there. The children seem nice and. willing to collaborate.

3rd Journal
1st practicum class
Date: July 6th
The class was fine, I really enjoyed it. At the beginning I felt a bit nervous, not because of
the class in itself but because I was being recorded.
I followed all the steps in the lesson plan, but as usual, there are things that appear all of a
sudden and we have to manage in the moment. For example some students Spanish
and although I encouraged them to speak in English they went on doing this. But most of
the students were very helpful. I explained to them that I am a student like them so
that I needed their help. They were happy.
Well as regards the class I think everything was as I expected. The only problem was the
recording of the video that the last 7 minutes of the class were not recorded.
After we finished the class some of the students told me that they liked the flashcards and
they wanted to take them home. So I promised that by the end of my period I am going
to organize a raffle so they will have those flashcards.
Other students were really engaged in the tic tac toe game. They loved the board, so
the winner kept it.
What is more , Nancy told me she liked the class, she was the one who recorded me. I
could see her face, she was smiling, because the children were behaving nicely.
Adriana, is the Maestra de grado. She studied English ah Juan XXIII in Bahia Blanca, and
she also told me that the children did fine in the class. They generally do fine but this time
the atmosphere was different. They are the ones who are with the children every day …
so I felt very proud.
Well I hope you like my class too when you watch the video.

2nd practicum class
Date: July 7th
Today the class was a bit difficult at the beginning. We missed some minutes because there
was a broken window and there were glasses in the classroom, so some teachers and
some parents were there cleaning the classroom.
After we could enter in the classroom, the mood was different, the children were not as
lively as they were yesterday. Apparently one of them was the one who broke the window .
Even though I felt more relaxed than yesterday!!!
Once we got into the classroom I felt that, so I played the recording of the Hello song and
try to get them to work.
But as I have expressed before there were people in the playground practising for an
event they have tomorrow “9 de Julio” , and one of the boys was peeping into the
classroom.
The sequencing of the class was ok. The children could work very good well.
I could notice that they remembered all they have learnt yesterday and they enjoyed the
reading. It is amazing to see how they participate in class.
There is one boy Matias who is very helpful. I love him!!!! He is always ready to help and
participate.
I hope I am doing Ok.

3rd practicum class
Date: July 13th
Today the setting was different, the class was in the SUM. The students participated very
well and they were very engaged in the activities.
It was funny when I mocked that I had been shopping to the “Cooperativa” or the “Chinese
and one of the students said: “I went shopping to my supermarket” because his dad
has got a supermarket. It was very funny.
Then when I was presenting vocabulary and I said “Pop corn”, another student said that
the day before he had gone to the shopping mall to watch a film and he had eaten
popcorn. So we talked about the shopping mall and the film for a bit.
That made me think that even though we can have our class prepared in a way, there is
always something that appears out of the blue and we have to be ready to react to that
situation.
They enjoyed the class , they participated as usual. That is something that I have noticed.
They are always ready to participate, they love to pass sheets of papers around and the
class. They love to be secretaries. And of course they loved eating the popcorn bags I
gave them.
I am having a great time in this course. However I am noticing that they are having
difficulty in keeping students quiet.
The first day when they saw the camera they stayed quiet and in silence, and it seems
that as days go by they forget about the camera and go back to the behavior I noticed
the first day. Some students get up just to throw a piece of paper in the bit, which
generates that other students say “Correte no dejas ver”. Personally I do not like these
situations.

Date: July 14th.
Today we went back to the classroom, and we will do it for the rest of the period. I was told
at school that as Primary shares the SUM with the KINDER they have the right to use
it, and apparently it is always booked at the same time I am at school that is why we
cannot go there . so I am planning to get a projector for future videos.
The class today was nice. The only problem I noticed was the timing. It took more than
usual to collect the homework and that made me lose some precious minutes that I needed
for the class. Even though I could manage it, by giving the students I the worksheets and
not making them be my secretaries, by doing that I could save time.
As usual they participated and were engaged in the activities, but as we changed topic,
this class I presented “Clothes” items , I felt that students did not find it as interesting
as the food topic . Perhaps because it took a lot of time to present the vocabulary and
perhaps because they were worried because they following hour they had a Natural
Science test about the environment and food chains.
However I tried to do my best, keeping a happy and entertaining atmosphere.

Date: August 3rd
In this lesson plan I used the PPP approach. It was a contextualized lesson about my
winter holidays in which, I had to revise vocabulary and structures because there has been
the winter recess in between. SS reacted effectively and they were engaged listening to
the story of my adventure.
In this lesson the strategies I used showing pictures and photographs to revise and to
teach vocabulary, I also pointed to some items there in the classroom, I exemplified,
students were supposed to write a stanza for a song, so I provided them with a model, and
most of the class I mimed actions such as eating, I also showed them a video, for that I
took to school a projector and my computer and I gave them worksheets for them to
complete. All of them were effective. Students could understand me without problems.
Students reacted effectively, all i had planned happened and they also told experiences
about once they had gone to the zoo. They loved the material I gave them, there they had
everything well explained and detailed activity by activity, it saved time and they loved
colour copies.
The most successful aspect of the class was of course after the presentation when Ss had
to do the activities on their own. they loved writing a stanza for the song, and I noticed
that they were very creative.
The most useful aspect is to prepare the whole worksheet with all the activities It saves
time and avoids misbehaviour and disorder in the class because all of them wanted to
be helpers or secretaries.
For next class I will prepare the worksheet again.
SS were very happy, they participated a lot and to my surprise they remembered quite a
lot from previous classes.

the last lesson from my period I tried to join both topics I had taught. The result was
effective.

loved listening to me asking the zoo keeper.

to teach vocabulary, I also pointed to some items there in the classroom, I exemplified,
students were supposed to write a dialogue in which they imagined they were visitors at the
zoo, so I provided them with a model, and most of the class I mimed actions such as
eating, There was a funny moment in which they have to order a song and I told them that
I did not remember the song and I started to sing it in disorder they laughed a lot and
said NO!!!! that’s not the way the song is. It is like this!!! .. and they started to sing it!.
it was very surprising for me that they remembered that by heart. I gave them
worksheets for them to complete. All of them were effective. Students could understand me
without problems.
Students reacted effectively. They loved the material I gave them, there they had everything
well explained and detailed activity by activity, it saved time and they loved colour copies.
The most successful aspect of the class was of course after the presentation when Ss had
to do the activities on their own. they loved writing and reading their dialogues aloud I
noticed that they were very creative.
As it happened in last class, the most useful aspect is to prepare the whole worksheet

The last moment was very touching when I said goodbye for ever and gave them a
present, then we went to the hall and took a photograph, for me to have as a memory.
I felt very comfortable in this course. Ss reacted positively to me and showed they wanted
to help and participate.

  • 1. INSTITUTO LENGUAS VIVAS - EDUCACION A DISTANCIA ASIGNATURA: TALLER DE PRACTICA DOCENTE TUTOR: CECILIA ZEMBORAIN CO-TUTOR: EUGENIA CARRION CANTON. ALUMNO RESIDENTE: TRECH María Inés. Practicum period : Primary School School: Escuela Manuel Belgrano DIPREGEP 662 Coronel Dorrego Year 5th A. Teacher : Nancy Corral 1st Journal Date: June 23rd. As soon as I entered into the classroom students asked who I was. So the teacher explained that I was going to be there several classes and some classes it was I who was going to teach them. They said hello to me and that was all!!! I expected they asked me more questions... but it did not happened. The class began straight to the point. Students had to present some posters as regards their ideal city They were dealing with the topic “My City” there is - there are. So students in groups presented their posters. The students were quite messy. All of those who had prepared the poster wanted to be first, so the teacher had to calm them down and ask several times to sit down. Once they were organized she was calling the groups to come to the front. The 1st poster was “Andres polis” The boy who was describing it apparently attends private classes. But as he was talking the class was messy again. Ss were talking about irrelevant topics; I could listen to some of them talking about the break. The teacher was at the front listening to the student’s presentations. She was constantly asking for silence. So the class went on this way, some students went to the front to show their posters and the rest of the class was listening. Some boys at the back went on talking. They looked like they were not interested in the class. The teacher was the one who put tape to stick the posters and this took a few seconds which were very useful for students to start talking. The last of the groups presented a kind of built city. It looked very nice. As regards the students there was one boy called Mafias who was very noisy. He attends private classes so he was the Know it all, and for him everybody’s posters were “una pavada”. The teacher asked him to be quiet a lot of times. There is another boy called Andres. He is very negative. For him all the posters were horrible and his was the best. He seems to be very selfish because he prepared the poster alone and called it Andreshopolis.
  • 2. To round up the class the teacher congratulated the students and said the posters were beautiful. I noticed that the class was about to finish and the teacher was going to give the students a copy but she didn’t because the bell rang and all the students left the classroom without saying goodbye. They just left. I felt comfortable, but the class was really messy. I hope they behave better when I teach them. Otherwise I will feel frustrated. Teacher : Nancy Corral 2nd Journal Date: June 30th As soon as I entered the class there were two students asking something to the teacher. Apparently they had some doubts as regards a task. A late students arrived. He always arrives late. The teacher began the class by giving the students a copy of a text with some empty spaces. There were also pictures so they had to replace the pictures by words. There was written : In my town there are (and there was a picture of a cinema ) for example for students to write in singular or plural. Some students did the activity very quickly and finished but for others it was more difficult. The late student was still getting the things out of his bag. Outside there was a terrible noise and music. They share the internal playground with Kinder and today they were celebrating the birthdays so the noise was very loud. Even though we close the windows and the door. The fast finishers started to speak among themselves about the break, the shop or some pictures of the Copa America. So the teacher clapped her hand to call for silence. The class was a bit noisy, not as noisy as was last week. Once all finished the text, the teacher wrote some questions about it on the blackboard, again faster students finished quickly and they stood up in order to be corrected. This boy Matias was constantly making questions constantly even though he knew the answers ( I was sat with him) .
  • 3. So once they have copies the questions, as some found difficulties, the teacher explained again and called Matias to help her. The questions were like this : Where is …..? for this she mimed as if she was looking for something (it worked) How many ….? So as she was telling how many … she was counting with her fingers. How many..) one , two three … For students to remember the meaning of how many . But it took a lot of time. Fast finishers began painting or drawing things they had hidden under the desk, the teacher Did not realized because she was busy attending others. Children are accustomed to calling the teacher so she goes to their desks. Then she wrote the date. It was 2 o´clock. She said she did that because the other was an activity from last class!!! ¿? So she wrote an activity to round up the topic because the next class I am going to be the teacher there at the front, she said. So she draw three circles: jobs – places – prepositions And some words for students to classify inside the circles. Among the words was “baker’s” a student asked what baker was so the teacher said: it ‘s “Milani’s” or “Todo Rico”. They are two well known bakers in Dorrego. This is important the use of the background. Some students did not finished copying. I am afraid of that I will have to bring everything printed, because for some students it takes a lot of time to copy, or they do not see, or they claim they do not understand the handwriting. She wrote in handwriting and in block letter - sometimes she mixed. When it was quarter past two, she called me to the front for me to speak with the children. I told them that I am doing an experience so that for the following 6 classes I will be there at the front. They clapped and the bell rang. I think I will be comfortable there. The children seem nice and. willing to collaborate.   • 4. Date: July 6th The class was fine, I really enjoyed it. At the beginning I felt a bit nervous, not because of the class in itself but because I was being recorded. I followed all the steps in the lesson plan, but as usual, there are things that appear all of a sudden and we have to manage in the moment. For example some students Spanish and although I encouraged them to speak in English they went on doing this. But most of the students were very helpful. I explained to them that I am a student like them so that I needed their help. They were happy. Well as regards the class I think everything was as I expected. The only problem was the recording of the video that the last 7 minutes of the class were not recorded. After we finished the class some of the students told me that they liked the flashcards and they wanted to take them home. So I promised that by the end of my period I am going to organize a raffle so they will have those flashcards. Other students were really engaged in the tic tac toe game. They loved the board, so the winner kept it. What is more , Nancy told me she liked the class, she was the one who recorded me. I could see her face, she was smiling, because the children were behaving nicely. Adriana, is the Maestra de grado. She studied English ah Juan XXIII in Bahia Blanca, and she also told me that the children did fine in the class. They generally do fine but this time the atmosphere was different. They are the ones who are with the children every day … so I felt very proud. Well I hope you like my class too when you watch the video. Teacher : Nancy Corral 4th Journal 2nd practicum class Date: July 7th Today the class was a bit difficult at the beginning. We missed some minutes because there was a broken window and there were glasses in the classroom, so some teachers and some parents were there cleaning the classroom. After we could enter in the classroom, the mood was different, the children were not as lively as they were yesterday. Apparently one of them was the one who broke the window . Even though I felt more relaxed than yesterday!!!
  • 5. Once we got into the classroom I felt that, so I played the recording of the Hello song and try to get them to work. But as I have expressed before there were people in the playground practising for an event they have tomorrow “9 de Julio” , and one of the boys was peeping into the classroom. The sequencing of the class was ok. The children could work very good well. I could notice that they remembered all they have learnt yesterday and they enjoyed the reading. It is amazing to see how they participate in class. There is one boy Matias who is very helpful. I love him!!!! He is always ready to help and participate. I hope I am doing Ok. Ma. Teacher : Nancy Corral 5th Journal 3rd practicum class Date: July 13th Today the setting was different, the class was in the SUM. The students participated very well and they were very engaged in the activities. It was funny when I mocked that I had been shopping to the “Cooperativa” or the “Chinese and one of the students said: “I went shopping to my supermarket” because his dad has got a supermarket. It was very funny. Then when I was presenting vocabulary and I said “Pop corn”, another student said that the day before he had gone to the shopping mall to watch a film and he had eaten popcorn. So we talked about the shopping mall and the film for a bit. That made me think that even though we can have our class prepared in a way, there is always something that appears out of the blue and we have to be ready to react to that situation. They enjoyed the class , they participated as usual. That is something that I have noticed. They are always ready to participate, they love to pass sheets of papers around and the class. They love to be secretaries. And of course they loved eating the popcorn bags I gave them.
  • 6. I am having a great time in this course. However I am noticing that they are having difficulty in keeping students quiet. The first day when they saw the camera they stayed quiet and in silence, and it seems that as days go by they forget about the camera and go back to the behavior I noticed the first day. Some students get up just to throw a piece of paper in the bit, which generates that other students say “Correte no dejas ver”. Personally I do not like these situations. Practicum period : Primary School School: Escuela Manuel Belgrano DIPREGEP 662 Coronel Dorrego Year 5th A. Teacher : Nancy Corral 6th Journal 4rd practicum class Date: July 14th. Today we went back to the classroom, and we will do it for the rest of the period. I was told at school that as Primary shares the SUM with the KINDER they have the right to use it, and apparently it is always booked at the same time I am at school that is why we cannot go there . so I am planning to get a projector for future videos. The class today was nice. The only problem I noticed was the timing. It took more than usual to collect the homework and that made me lose some precious minutes that I needed for the class. Even though I could manage it, by giving the students I the worksheets and not making them be my secretaries, by doing that I could save time. As usual they participated and were engaged in the activities, but as we changed topic, this class I presented “Clothes” items , I felt that students did not find it as interesting as the food topic . Perhaps because it took a lot of time to present the vocabulary and perhaps because they were worried because they following hour they had a Natural Science test about the environment and food chains. However I tried to do my best, keeping a happy and entertaining atmosphere.   • 7. Teacher : Nancy Corral 7th Journal 5thh practicum class Date: August 3rd In this lesson plan I used the PPP approach. It was a contextualized lesson about my winter holidays in which, I had to revise vocabulary and structures because there has been the winter recess in between. SS reacted effectively and they were engaged listening to the story of my adventure. In this lesson the strategies I used showing pictures and photographs to revise and to teach vocabulary, I also pointed to some items there in the classroom, I exemplified, students were supposed to write a stanza for a song, so I provided them with a model, and most of the class I mimed actions such as eating, I also showed them a video, for that I took to school a projector and my computer and I gave them worksheets for them to complete. All of them were effective. Students could understand me without problems. Students reacted effectively, all i had planned happened and they also told experiences about once they had gone to the zoo. They loved the material I gave them, there they had everything well explained and detailed activity by activity, it saved time and they loved colour copies. The most successful aspect of the class was of course after the presentation when Ss had to do the activities on their own. they loved writing a stanza for the song, and I noticed that they were very creative. The most useful aspect is to prepare the whole worksheet with all the activities It saves time and avoids misbehaviour and disorder in the class because all of them wanted to be helpers or secretaries. For next class I will prepare the worksheet again. SS were very happy, they participated a lot and to my surprise they remembered quite a lot from previous classes. As this was the last lesson from my period I tried to join both topics I had taught. The result was effective. SS reacted effectively and they were engaged listening to the story of my adventure, they loved listening to me asking the zoo keeper. In this lesson the strategies I used were showing pictures and photographs to revise and to teach vocabulary, I also pointed to some items there in the classroom, I exemplified, students were supposed to write a dialogue in which they imagined they were visitors at the zoo, so I provided them with a model, and most of the class I mimed actions such as eating, There was a funny moment in which they have to order a song and I told them that I did not remember the song and I started to sing it in disorder they laughed a lot and said NO!!!! that’s not the way the song is. It is like this!!! .. and they started to sing it!. it was very surprising for me that they remembered that by heart. I gave them worksheets for them to complete. All of them were effective. Students could understand me without problems. Students reacted effectively. They loved the material I gave them, there they had everything well explained and detailed activity by activity, it saved time and they loved colour copies. As it happened in last class, the most useful aspect is to prepare the whole worksheet with all the activities It saved time and avoided misbehaviour. SS were very happy, they participated a lot and to my surprise they remembered quite a lot from previous classes. The last moment was very touching when I said goodbye for ever and gave them a present, then we went to the hall and took a photograph, for me to have as a memory.
