system improvement project
 Worked with administration, outpatient physical therapy, the wound center, and the diabetes
education program in the design of a new facility to house all three departments as well as
adding the cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation centers
 Worked with staff oncologists, nutritionists, and social workers to develop a pilot study to
assess if a personalized exercise and diet program can help prevent deconditioning and
functional impairment in older cancer patients receiving radiation therapy and/or
chemotherapy
 Also continue to perform all duties listed below under Supervisor
Supervisor - Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation and EECP Center
Boca Raton Regional Hospital, Boca Raton, FL (2006 - 2015)
 Supervise 9 employees, both full-time and per-diem and manage all aspects of hiring,
training and evaluating staff.
 Ensure provision of services within the department maintains compliance with the
organization’s and department’s policies and procedures as well as The Joint Commission
and appropriate regulatory agencies
 Ensure that departmental and hospital wide performance improvement measures are met
 Maintain operational quality excellence of all programs to ensure the cost-effective delivery
of quality services and positive outcomes for services provided
 Prepare monthly and quarterly variance reports as well as yearly departmental budgets.
 Perform EECP therapy on patients as a treatment for angina.
 Serve on the following committees:
o Ambulatory Advisory Committee - Assist in developing request for proposal for
software vendors as the hospital expands its electronic medical records. Prepare
patient scenarios for all vendors to demonstrate electronic medical record
capabilities to compare to current electronic medical record software
o Ambulatory Services Committee - Ensure hospital wide constant readiness for The
Joint Commission

Lead Exercise Physiologist – Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation and EECP Center
Boca Raton Community Hospital, Boca Raton, FL (1996 - 2006)
 Assess and evaluate Phase I, II, and III patients during recovery from events such as
myocardial infarction, angioplasty, stenting, coronary bypass grafting surgery, or
exacerbations of COPD.
 Design and implement cardiovascular, resistance, and flexibility exercise programs for
Phase II and III cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation patients based on American
Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR), American Heart
Association (AHA), American Lung Association, and American College of Sports Medicine
(ACSM) guidelines.
 Perform educational training for patients that includes diagnosis and pathophysiology of
heart and lung disease, nutritional counseling, risk factor modification, symptom
management, medication compliance and exercise guidelines and continuance
 Develop staff scheduling for proper staff rotation while maintaining department productivity
above 95%.
 Perform community lectures on various health topics
