Legal Assistant, Coleman and Enke Law Office
December 1999 – March 2004
Legal Assistant/secretary for C. Joseph Coleman, Jr. My duties included; answering phone calls from
clients and assisting them with various legal issues, preparation of letters, court documents and discovery.
I maintained the calendar and schedule for Mr. Coleman, a criminal defense attorney. I would open files
for clients and enter client data in Amicus Attorney. I obtained excellent people skills from years of
communicating with clients, lawyers and Judges. I am proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, FrontPage, DragonWorks voice recognition software, ReadIris character
recognition software and Amicus Attorney. I am skilled in the use of various office equipment; copy
machine, computer, multi-line phone system, postal meter, dictaphone, scanner and fax machine. One of
my job skills was looking after the office computers by performing regular maintenance checks. I
managed technical, hardware and software issues as they arose. I am experienced at setting up new
computers; I installed and learned new programs and then taught them to co-workers. It was my

Specific duties included accounts receivable using TABS Time & Billing program. I entered the
attorneys’ timesheet data, then prepared and sent out monthly statements to clients. I operated and
entered data in CaseMaster, a Client Data & Case Management program. Receptionist duties included
answering the phone, greeting clients and responding to their questions and concerns. I would set up
appointments and coordinate the office calendars and attorneys’ schedules. My other duties consisted of
typing legal documents and letters using Microsoft Word and WordPerfect, dictation, filing, opening files
for new clients and general office work. During tax season I reviewed tax returns, copied and collated
them. I am proficient in the use of various office equipment; copy machine, computer, multi-line phone

Owner, Print Shoppe Plus
2000 - Present
Owner and graphic designer of Print Shoppe Plus. I order inventory for the store in addition to designing
and creating many printed items such as business cards, flyers, invitations, calendars and signs. Services
offered include custom design of logos and marketing material, preparation of PowerPoint presentations,
laminating, binding, copying and typing service. I am proficient at operating a dual monitor computer,
various printers, a copy machine and the cash register. In addition, I have mastered the skill of laser
engraving and traditional scratch engraving. During the years, I have obtained excellent sales and
communication skills. I prepare my business analysis reports, profit and loss statements and do all the
payroll and tax accounting for my store. The software that I know how to use is numerous; Excel, Word,
Corel Draw, Laserworks, Gravostyle engraving, Adobe software such as Illustrator, InDesign, Fireworks
and Photoshop. I created my own website and Etsy site on the internet.

started to teach Firearms Training, Self Defense and also provided Private Security. I am a licensed and
bonded Private Security Agent, an NRA Certified Instructor, Iowa Permit to Carry Instructor, Minnesota
Permit to Carry Instructor and a Range Safety Officer, in addition to handling the financial matters for the
corporation. I also am the creator of the PowerPoint material used for our various classes that we teach.

Independent Sales and Marketing Director for Team National, a company which sells benefits packages
by offering discounts through group buying power. I achieved Team Leader status within two months
and had several marketing directors under my leadership, who I supervise and help achieve their goals. I
moved up and achieved the next level of success by developing and gaining more associates and making
more sales. Throughout my time as an independent marketing director, I attended many seminars and
trainings to increase my personal growth, salesmanship and leadership qualities. It was a great experience
that allowed me to grow and gain more confidence as a public speaker and trainer of others.
