I. OBJECTIVES
Content Standard:
ICT in the context of global communication for specific professional track
Performance Standard:
At the end of the 2-week period independently compose an insightful reflection paper on
the nature of ICT in the context of their lives, society, and professional tracks (Arts,
TechVoc, Sports, Academic)
Learning Competency:
Apply online safety, security, ethics, and etiquette standards and practice in the use of
ICTs as it would relate to their specific professional tracks.
SUB-OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson the students are able to do the following:
 Discuss the tips to stay safe online.
 Analyze the safety of others when sharing information using internet.
 Display awareness and respect to others reputation.

A. Daily Routine
Prayer:
Before we start, Let us pray first. Jocydel please lead
the prayer.
Greetings:
Good Morning Class!
Classroom Management:
Before you sit down, Kindly check your surroundings
for pieces of paper and arrange your chairs properly.
Okay, Please be seated.
Checking of Attendance:
Miss secretary kindly report our attendance for
today.
That’s great! We have again a perfect attendance.
Review of Previous Lesson:
Class, last meeting we’ve discussed the ICT. Anyone
from the class who can give me the summary of what
we’ve discussed.
Ok! Very good!
Before we start, I would like to present our
objectives of the day.
Everyone please read.
B. Motivation ( 5 minutes)
Lets play a game. Its called “Pass the ball”.
I have here a ball, all you need to do is to pass the
ball with your classmates and when the music stop,
the student who get the ball will answer the question.
Are you ready?

C. Analysis/ Discussion
Our lesson this afternoon is about Online security,
safety, and ethics.
But before we start, you have to answer the
questionnaire “How safe are you”?
Instruction:
Put a check (⁄) under Shared or Not Shared
(5 minutes)

Okay,times up. How many checks did you have for
shared?
You probably answered Shared in your first name
and last name. If that case, get your cellphone and try
to search your first and last name in google. Did your
profile page appear?
If its appear, chances are, if it did not appear its
much better not being found by search engines.
Eveyone,please read the paragraph.

Yes. It is also a source of entertainment like gaming,
music and movies.
The internet is one of the most dangerous places,
especially if you do not know what are you doing
with it. Like a swordman, without proper training
they can easily injure himself when wielding a
sword, the same whenever you use the internet.
The internet is a public place and its up to you to
protect yourself.
Here are some tips to help you stay safe when using
the internet. (Presented in Powerpoint)

necessary that we know and apply them in our daily
lives.

friends, and stay in touch with the old ones.

place, you have no control over other people getting
your access.

E. Application:
The Learners will be divided and form into 5 groups.
Instruction: (15 minutes)
Each group will create a scenario about “how do we
protect ourselves online”. It could be in a form of
role play, poem, small posters, song or reporting.
Your presentation will be evaluated using the
following scale:
Preparation- 1 2 3 4 5
Creativity- 1 2 3 4 5
Delivery- 1 2 3 4 5
Quality- 1 2 3 4 5
5 is the highest and 1 is the lowest score.
I’ll give you 15 minutes to present your task.

OBJECTIVES Content Standard: ICT in the context of global communication for specific professional track Performance Standard: At the end of the 2-week period independently compose an insightful reflection paper on the nature of ICT in the context of their lives, society, and professional tracks (Arts, TechVoc, Sports, Academic) Learning Competency: Apply online safety, security, ethics, and etiquette standards and practice in the use of ICTs as it would relate to their specific professional tracks. SUB-OBJECTIVES At the end of the lesson the students are able to do the following:  Discuss the tips to stay safe online.  Analyze the safety of others when sharing information using internet.  Display awareness and respect to others reputation. Content: Online Safety and Security Learning Materials: Laptop and Power Point Learning Resources: Module in Empowerment Technologies III. PROCEDURE Teacher’s Activity A. Daily Routine Prayer: Before we start, Let us pray first. Jocydel please lead the prayer. Greetings: Good Morning Class! Classroom Management: Before you sit down, Kindly check your surroundings for pieces of paper and arrange your chairs properly. Okay, Please be seated. Checking of Attendance: Miss secretary kindly report our attendance for today. That’s great! We have again a perfect attendance. Review of Previous Lesson: Class, last meeting we’ve discussed the ICT. Anyone from the class who can give me the summary of what we’ve discussed. Ok! Very good! Before we start, I would like to present our objectives of the day. Everyone please read. B. Motivation ( 5 minutes) Lets play a game. Its called “Pass the ball”. I have here a ball, all you need to do is to pass the ball with your classmates and when the music stop, the student who get the ball will answer the question. Are you ready? Okay, give yourself 10 claps. Student’s Activity (Jocedyl lead the prayer) Good Morning Ma’am! (Students will pick up the pieces of paper and arrange their chairs properly) Thank you Ma’am! Ma’am, everybody is present today.   • 2. C. Analysis/ Discussion Our lesson this afternoon is about Online security, safety, and ethics. But before we start, you have to answer the questionnaire “How safe are you”? Instruction: Put a check (⁄) under Shared or Not Shared (5 minutes) Understood? Okay,times up. How many checks did you have for shared? You probably answered Shared in your first name and last name. If that case, get your cellphone and try to search your first and last name in google. Did your profile page appear? If its appear, chances are, if it did not appear its much better not being found by search engines. Eveyone,please read the paragraph. (presented in Powerpoint) Yes. It is also a source of entertainment like gaming, music and movies. The internet is one of the most dangerous places, especially if you do not know what are you doing with it. Like a swordman, without proper training they can easily injure himself when wielding a sword, the same whenever you use the internet. The internet is a public place and its up to you to protect yourself. Here are some tips to help you stay safe when using the internet. (Presented in Powerpoint) Please read. Anyone? Yes, Very good. There are several ways to stay safe online and it necessary that we know and apply them in our daily lives. D. Valuing/Generalization: How safe are you? Is there any danger of being found by search engines like google? why? Yes Ma’am. (Students doing their activity.) Ma’am, 5 for shared and also 5 for not shared. Yes Ma’am. (The students read the paragraph) The Internet, truly, is a powerful tool. It can be used to promote your business, gain new friends, and stay in touch with the old ones.   • 3. Very well said, it is vital to consider what information you share because internet is a public place, you have no control over other people getting your access. How would you feel if someone posted something embarassing about you? Excellent! We should be mindful of what we post when others are involved, it is our responsibility to protect others reputation. Give yourselves a big “Wow claps”. It seems like you really understood the topic for today. Do you still have questions or clarifications? E. Application: The Learners will be divided and form into 5 groups. Instruction: (15 minutes) Each group will create a scenario about “how do we protect ourselves online”. It could be in a form of role play, poem, small posters, song or reporting. Your presentation will be evaluated using the following scale: Preparation- 1 2 3 4 5 Creativity- 1 2 3 4 5 Delivery- 1 2 3 4 5 Quality- 1 2 3 4 5 5 is the highest and 1 is the lowest score.
