Facilitated Study Groups (FSGs) are weekly
study groups available to first and second year
UTSC courses with high enrolment, attrition
or failure rates. Led by a trained peer, FSGs
encourage students to keep up with course
material and develop effective study strategies.
Results show that, on average, participants
earn significantly higher mean grades and are
more likely to complete the course.
Available to consult with faculty on building
a range of active and collaborative learning
opportunities into their courses, both on and
offline.
