• Delivering high quality professional learning and development specialising in initiatives to support
Māori medium education at local and national levels.
• Deep theoretical and practical knowledge of Te Reo Pākehā learning area of Te Marautanga o
Aotearoa

My expertise in this area stems from eight years’ experience of specialist teaching in Reo Pākehā.
I have been providing/delivering PLD in the area of Te Reo Pākehā under the umbrella of Te Reo Matatini
for four years. In this role I have been able to
• Empower kaiako to design, teach and assess units of work for Reo Pākehā.
• Utilise the inquiry process to ‘teach for transfer.’
• Assist kaiako to report data to students, whānau and Board of Trustees in ways that were
understood.
• Support kaiako to provide feedback and feed forward to students on a regular basis.
• Promote the establishment of professional networks with other Reo Pākehā kaiako.
• Facilitate and develop understanding of the moderation process of student samples.
Encourage partnership mentoring with other Reo Pākehā kaiako throughout Waikato

2. The Inquiry Cycle for Reo Pākehā -Inquiry question: How well do I deliberately teach for transfer?
3. Established, developed and provided ongoing support to the Community of Māori Medium English
Teachers. (C.O.M.M.E.T).
4. GAFE - Developing and delivering targeted workshops for Kura using Google Apps for Education
ensured the delivery of a specific and tailored programme that suited the needs of kaiako.

I have been providing/delivering PLD in the area of Te Reo Pākehā under the umbrella of Te Reo Matatini for four years. In this role I have been able to • Empower kaiako to design, teach and assess units of work for Reo Pākehā. • Utilise the inquiry process to ‘teach for transfer.’ • Assist kaiako to report data to students, whānau and Board of Trustees in ways that were understood. • Support kaiako to provide feedback and feed forward to students on a regular basis. • Promote the establishment of professional networks with other Reo Pākehā kaiako. • Facilitate and develop understanding of the moderation process of student samples. The Inquiry Cycle for Reo Pākehā -Inquiry question: How well do I deliberately teach for transfer? 3. Established, developed and provided ongoing support to the Community of Māori Medium English Teachers. (C.O.M.M.E.T). 4. GAFE - Developing and delivering targeted workshops for Kura using Google Apps for Education ensured the delivery of a specific and tailored programme that suited the needs of kaiako. 5. Learning Based Challenge – Creating opportunities for kaiako to ‘experience the learning’ with digital technologies.
