Gilbert Keith Chesterton was a prolific British writer born in 1874 who worked in journalism, philosophy, poetry, and fiction. He wrote on diverse topics including fantasy, detective fiction, literary criticism, and theology. Some of his most notable works include The Napoleon of Notting Hill, Heretics, The Man Who Was Thursday, Orthodoxy, The Ballad of the White Horse, Father Brown short stories, and Eugenics and Other Evils. Chesterton died in 1936 at the age of 61.
