This document provides an overview and demonstration of Blackboard Collaborate, a real-time video conferencing tool. It discusses the tool's features like file sharing, virtual whiteboards, breakout rooms, and participant roles. The demonstration shows the user interface and available moderator features. A session window is available after opening and places are important for the user: session
menu (1), available participant tools (2), Collaborate panel (3)

Session menu contains: possibility to record session, preview help available online and close
the sesion (you can also use X buton in the browser).

There are basic tools available for the participant: status, microphone, audio and hand up.
The Moderator can lower the hand raised, and hide / show tool availability.

It is always possible to change the view inside the session. Then you can see the presenter on
the screen. And there are options available here.

It is possible to change the participants view, for example: Gallery View, Speaker View.

Gallery View show many people as possible in the window, depends on the number of
participants (options available).

Participants (Moderator, Presenter) can show the image or presentation, and others can add
comments here. The Moderator can turn off this functionality.

There is Chat available in the Collaborate panel (private, available for all, between
moderators, moderated). The Moderator can turn of / turn off this function.

There is Participant List available in the Collaborate panel. Moderator can change person
role, send the direct message. Other options are available here.

There are Tools available for presenters (four from the list) and moderators (all on the list).

There are Settings available for users. The Moderator can change tools (microphone, video,
chat) visibility on the fly, when session is open.

The additional options are available in the Settings (Gallery View availability, possibility to
change the language used, and participant permission).

There is Whiteboard available to use by Presenters and Moderators. Others can also draw on
the whiteboard, but Moderator can switch off this possibility.

you need additional (from the Lab) view for your lecture.

presentations (*.pptx) or files (images, PDF files). Up to 60 Mb.

There is Polling tool available for session moderators. Instructors can use question for
students (Yes / No for example). Is possible to show results.

There is Breakout Rooms available for session moderators. Instructors can randomly assign
participants or choose number of groups available (based on participants number).

Standalone Blackboard Learn Moodle
Blackboard Collaborate can be used as standalone tool, with Blackboard Learn or with
Moodle Learning Management System.

Blackboard Collaborate for Moodle has the same tools available except deeper integration
features as in Blackboard Learn.

Each online course (Moodle, Blackboard Learn) has it’s own Collaborate Room available.

Instructor can change course room settings, create new sessions and change settings after
session creation. There are options available.

Instructors can change session settings like session date, quest availability, session tools
availability (you can change later) and use advanced reporting feature (Learn integration).

There is Collaborate admin (instructor) panel available for instructors. Is possible to review all
recordings available, review or delete them. You can also change recording settings.
