I looked at four different jobs online and some the jobs had a few similarities while others
did not as to what was being asked for to apply for the job. The first fact I realised was that
the higher the wage the increase the amount of information in the job description and also
the higher the amount of qualifications that are needed to apply for the job. For example
the highest wage of my four jobs was the head of publisher development which is £80k a
year. This required 4 years of previous experience in this field and a degree so the roughly
the youngest age you could apply at is 25. However at the complete opposite is the
advertising sales executive which does not require nearly as much qualifications and even
has three “desirables” which are not 100% needed to get the job while for the other job
everything listed is a “must” which is why the advertising sales executive is $21k a year. The
next is job is quite an increase which is £25k to £35k and already more key qualifications are
needed even though the job description has not increased as much. Also this job is more of
a next step after doing the first stage which would be the advertising sales executive. The
next job is the senior sales executive which is the next stage up again which has almost
double the qualifications as the advertising sales executive which shows the importance of
“Senior” which resembles a higher status in the workplace than the other two lower paid
jobs. This job pays £35k a year but also £15k bonus so you could earn £50k a year. I also
done a compare and contrast on the jobs and they are may look similar but actually have
very little in common as are all at different statuses if u compare jobs at the same status you
would have far more similarities than just jobs in the same field but at different levels. Also I
noticed a common factor with all the jobs was that in some shape or form would
recommend having a degree in the education section of the qualifications which shows the
importance of having a degree for most important jobs and it was actually a must for the
higher status jobs such as the senior head of publishing. However this over all shows that
you can build up to the other jobs by working your way from the bottom by gaining
experience in that field and then moving up the hierarchy of a business and eventually reach
a maximum point.
