Topic: My country Level: 5th Grade
Activities:
1. Classifies vocabulary and illustrate it in a chart.
2. Describes customs, celebrations and traditions of Panamanian Ethnic groups.
3. Prepare for a speech with some other groups and gastronomy.
Panamanian Ethnic groups
Panama is considered a multicultural country,so we can find a largediversity of people from different
ethnicities.
It is our responsibility to preserve our traditions so we can pass itto the next generations.
Some of them are:
a) Embera, they mostly livein Darien.
b) Afro- Panamanian livein differentprovinces but mostly in Panama,Colon and Bocas del Toro.
c) Gunas,most of them livein Guna Yala.
d) Mestizo people, are all spread over Panama Republic.
Panamanian Culture
It is highly influenced by different countries but we still preserveit.
We have to listen and respect all traditions. So we can find different facets such as:
a) We can find different food likeTamales, Patacones , Sancocho,and a wide variation in the
gastronomy.
b) We have beautiful typical dresses butthe most importantare called Pollera and Congo.
c) The music is the most wonderful aspectthat represent us especially theCumbia and Tamborito.

Panamanian Ethnic groups
Panama is considered a multicultural country,so we can find a largediversity of people from different
ethnicities.
It is our responsibility to preserve our traditions so we can pass itto the next generations.
Some of them are:
a) Embera, they mostly livein Darien.
b) Afro- Panamanian livein differentprovinces but mostly in Panama,Colon and Bocas del Toro.
c) Gunas,most of them livein Guna Yala.
d) Mestizo people, are all spread over Panama Republic.

It is highly influenced by different countries but we still preserveit.
We have to listen and respect all traditions. So we can find different facets such as:

gastronomy.
b) We have beautiful typical dresses but the most important arecalled Pollera and Congo.
c) The music is the most wonderful aspectthat represent us especially the Cumbia and Tamborito.
