2. Musical instruments are divided into
four families.
These are the string, the woodwind,
the brass, and the percussion
instruments.

3. String Instruments
The string instruments consist of violin,
viola, cello, and double bass.
These instruments are musical
instruments that make sounds by
vibrating the strings on it.

5. Woodwind Instruments
The woodwind instruments include flute,
oboe, clarinet, and bassoon.
These instruments are played by blowing
through a reed or by buzzing into a metal
mouthpiece.

7. Brass Instruments
The brass instruments include trumpet,
trombone, tuba, French horn, and saxhorn.
These instruments produce sounds by placing
the lips on the mouthpiece and blowing while
vibrating the lips.

9. Percussion Instruments
The percussion instruments include timpani,
snare drum, bass drum, cymbals, triangle,
xylophone, and tambourine.
These instruments produce sounds by being
struck or scraped by a beater, by the hand,
or by another similar instruments.
