3. WHAT IS DISNEY AND WHERE IT IS?
Walt Disney Pictures is an American film production studio and
subsidiary of Walt Disney Studios, which is owned by The Walt Disney
Company.
The studio is the flagship producer of live-action feature films within the
Walt Disney Studios unit.
Animated films produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar
Animation Studios are also released under the studio banner. Walt
Disney Studios Motion Pictures distributes and markets the films
produced by Walt Disney Pictures.
Is based at the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California.
4. HISTORY
The studio's predecessor was founded as the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio, by
filmmaker Walt Disney and his business partner and brother, Roy, in 1923.
The creation of Mickey Mouse and merchandise generated revenue for the studio which
was renamed as The Walt Disney Studio at the Hyperion Studio in 1926.In 1929, it was
renamed again to Walt Disney Productions. The studio's streak of success continued in the
1930s, culminating with the 1937 release of the first feature-length animated film, Snow
White and the Seven Dwarfs, which becomes a huge financial success. With the profits
from Snow White, Walt relocated to a third studio in Burbank, California.
In the 1940s, Disney began experimenting with full-length live-action films, with the
introduction of hybrid live action-animated films
Walt Disney Productions had its first fully live-action film in 1950 with the release
of Treasure Island, considered by Disney to be the official conception for what would
eventually evolve into the modern-day Walt Disney Pictures. By 1953, the company ended
their agreements with such third-party distributors as RKO Radio Pictures and United
Artists and formed their own distribution company, Buena Vista Distribution.
In 2017, The Walt Disney Company announced it was creating its own streaming
service platform. The new service, known as Disney+, would feature original programming
created by the company's vast array of film and television production studios, including
Walt Disney Pictures

7. DISNEY FONT/LOGO
A lot of attention has been given to the font used to spell out the word “Walt Disney” as well. Since the complete
Disney logo is so complex, Disney needed a way to more easily brand certain products and productions without
having to print the entirety of Cinderella’s castle across them. To do this, Disney came up with a highly unique and
recognizable font to spell out “Walt Disney”. In this way, the simplified logo which consists of nothing more than a
line of text is still immediately recognizable and inseparable from the brand and its overall message
The Disney logo is the corporate logo of The Walt Disney Company. It is based on a stylized autograph of Walt
Disney. Aside from being used by The Walt Disney Company, various Disney divisions and products use the same
style/font in their logos, although with some differences depending on the company.
The signature of Walt Disney has been considered the most recognized.[1][dubious – discuss] The D in the Disney
logo makes use of the golden ratio three times.
The name of The Walt Disney Company has changed several times, and so has the logo.[
Until 1985, instead of a traditional production logo, the opening credits of Disney films used to feature a title card
that read "Walt Disney Presents", and later, "Walt Disney Productions Presents".
in 1985, Walt Disney Pictures introduced its fantasy castle logo
The logo of Walt Disney Animation Studios was changed several times since its inception as a spin off from Walt
Disney Pictures. Starting in 2007, it uses a more sketchier version of the signature corporate font accompanied with
"ANIMATION STUDIOS" in reddish-orange, underneath.
The modern Disney Channel logo has evolved starting From 2002-2010, it used a outline of Mickey Mouse's head
with "Disney Channel" in it, called "the Mickey head". From 2010-2014, a variant of the Mickey head was used, in
which the head was partially enclosed in a rounded box. Starting in 2014, the Mickey head was dropped altogether
in favor of a new 3D logo, in which the "i" in "Disney" had mouse ears. From 2017-2019, the logo became 2D, and
since 2019, gradient variations have been in full use.
The "Disney Parks" logo incorporates the Disney wordmark, with "Parks" in a matching script
The Disney+ logo consists of Disney next to a stylized plus sign below a light-blue-white (or light-blue-dark blue)
gradient arc
