Concept of forms and matter in the Philosophy of Aristotle.

• a scholar = a human + education
 Substance Theory – Substances are the ultimate things in
this universe.
 Matter and forms are parts of substances.
 Matter and form are not material part. Matter is formed
into substance by the form it has.
( MATTER + FORM = MATERIAL SUBSTANCE)

Whether it was possible that something
could have matter but no form?
->Prime matter or stuff (no particular form,
not well arranged)
Whether something could have form or
structure without matter?
->God
