Why does this resonate with me?
The UN Millennial Development goal, Zero Hunger resonates with me
because there were times growing up, when our family was
struggling to eat a decent meal. When I was younger, I remember
going to food bank with my mom every week so that we would be
able to have food on the table. Due to my personal experiences and
knowledge from previous courses, food waste is very important to
me.

How can my interest be applied locally?
My interest in zero hunger could be applied locally by volunteering or
donating to any food banks or pantries and buying food from local
farmers markets instead of larger grocery store corporations.
Spreading knowledge about hunger to my friends and family and
raising awareness about hunger in the world could help our
community as well.

Where can I personally make the greatest
contribution?
I believe the greatest contribution I could make would be to donate to
my local food drive. Prior to a course I took last quarter about social
change, I was unaware about how big of an issue food sustainability is
in our world. Raising awareness about this issue would also make a
great contribution to our community.

Is there a feature of social media that can
be uniquely applied to this goal?
There could be more features on social media to bring awareness
about SNAP (Supplemental Nutrtion Assistance Program) and how it
is barely beneficial to families in America. Although individuals and
families are receiving benefits from SNAP, it is usually not enough to
last them through the whole month. That is why most people result
to going to food banks or food pantries, etc. Due to the recent
Coronavirus pandemic, hunger has increased and the number of
individuals waiting in line at food banks have also increased.
