 The process can be cumbersome and
complicated.
 There are many efforts out there looking to
simplify this document.

◦ MSCSA supports legislation aimed at
increasing the number of OERs available for
use by faculty.
◦ These resources have shown tremendous
ability to save money for students.

8.  Show up early (but not super duper early)
◦ Try and be 10 minutes early for your
appointment
 Don’t be insulted if you meet with staff
◦ Members of Congress are really busy
◦ Staff are key in congressional offices
 Stay on topic as best you can
◦ Friendly chat is okay, but don’t’ get sidelined
 Be friendly, positive, and smile
◦ If you’re having fun, they will, too
