Editor's Notes
Who’s ready for Star Campus this year raise your hand!! Okay now, raise your hand if your planning on not getting Star Campus. (Add joke here ). I am so proud to see that some of you have already submitted a point for this year. We got this!!!
So, who knows how Star Campus first started? Does anyone know? ….. The original Star Campus program was an initiative first created by the cabinet of 2009-2010 with the intent to reward the most active campuses of LeadMN. Star Campus is a list of 12 tasks. These task help improve Student Senate involvement on campus and with LeadMN. By completing 10 of these tasks you will achieve Star Campus. I can’t stress enough on how important deadlines are. We kept it very simple this year. You only need to remember 3 dates. How easy is that?
Achieving Star Campus helps increase active campus engagement and it is a way to recognize senates for their hard work, but most importantly it helps build your team. I know when I was on my senate at ARCC, I absolutely loved working together to win Star Campus. Being able to say that I was on Student Senate and we actually worked together to create a better school. In my opinion I have more fun when I am in a group to work on a project or to achieve a goal.
How do you submit a Star Campus point? Well if you forget you can always message me at anytime. No guarantees that I’ll reply at 2 in the morning but I will try. The first step is to go on the LeadMN website, click on member tools on the top right, then click on star campus which is in a blue box, then click on Star campus submission form under helpful links. Don’t forget the donation form as well for the Donation made to the January Scholarship Gala silent auction star campus point.
If you have any questions you can ask Courtney or myself to help you. Our contact information is on the website and up here as well. Feel free to take a picture of this slide so you have our emails. But also any staff or cabinet member will be able tohelp if you have a question.
As a group we did an amazing job last year, and I want to continue the success. There can’t be a star campus without its students.
