Editor's Notes
The compact 19-inch system solutions from MEN are based on a modular concept with pre-configured built-to-order (BTO) functionality. These systems can be adapted quite flexibly, and enable a short-time-to-market.
Scalable CPU platforms, suitable I/O cards and a variety of fieldbus interfaces deliver a wide range of configuration options for use in harsh and mobile applications.
All systems use the same chassis with a width of 40 HP, allowing two systems to be placed side-by-side in a regular 19-inch chassis. Due to this compact size, it can be also wall-mounted.
The growing family currently includes the gigabit Ethernet switch NH30, the data storage system MH70S and the industrial PC MH70I.
Depending on the application, the robust pre-configured half 19-inch systems from MEN use a combination of CompactPCI and CompactPCI Serial boards.
Thanks to an especially developed adapter board, even PCI or PCI Express cards can be implemented and provide further I/O functionality.
Fail-safe AC or DC power supplies, which work redundantly, secure a constant and uninterrupted output of power in mission-critical environments.
All systems use the same chassis with a width of 40 HP, so two systems side-by-side can be placed in a regular 19-inch chassis. Due to this compact size it can be also wall-mounted.
Designed for use in trains, mass transit or industrial environments, the 29-Gigabit Ethernet switch NH30 offers carrier grade Layer 2 and Layer 3 VLAN routing capabilities.
The NH30 supports a total of 25 Gigabit Ethernet ports, and can be configured with up to six line cards as either active or passive copper connections, or as SFP interfaces.
In addition, the ports have PoE+ to enable the connection of different devices.
The MH70S is designed for storage intensive applications such as digital video recorders, content servers or NAS (Network Attached Storage Device).
A robust and safe operation of up to 5 HDD / SSD carriers make the modular storage system a real storage giant, with a storage capacity of up to 20 TB.
The HDD carriers can be configured in RAID 0, 1 or 5, while the carriers themselves have their own internal RAID 0, 1 and JBOD hardware configuration possibility.
On peripheral slots 1 and 2 the system can be equipped with Ethernet interfaces and / or Ethernet switches - the latter with Power over Ethernet functionality (PoE).
The MH70I is tailored to industrial applications and can be configured with a pre-defined set of boards. Functions range from analog or binary I/O via M-Modules, fieldbus functions, SATA hard disks or wireless functions, to Ethernet interface boards or Ethernet switches.
It is built around the F22P CompactPCI PlusIO SBC with an Intel Core i7 or Celeron processor, offering up to 16 GB DDR3 DRAM.
A SATA RAID with up to four HDD shuttles can be built in the CompactPCI Serial slots.
With our built-to-order configurator, which can be found on our website, ordering an individually configured 19-inch system is easy.
By choosing a basic unit with preconfigured functionality, you can add all your necessary accessories from a range of components with compatible software and functionality. Pre-selected functions indicate that they are required by your system. Article numbers are assigned depending on your drop-down selections, and a 100% identifiable product key is generated. Once configured, you can order the system with your individual product key.
This process is suitable for small quantities and fast evaluation. For volume quotes higher than 25 systems, please contact MEN sales directly.
Due to the built-to-order concept and a high stockpiling of all components, the delivery time can be drastically reduced.
Within short time customers receive their close-to-series prototypes, and can immediately start developing their application.
Based on standard versions there are many various configuration options, and you can place an order starting from just one single piece.
