Introduction
The SCB-9610, an Intel® Sandy/Ivy Bridge-EP Xeon® processor base platform, is a hardware platform developed for maximum performance,
scalability and functionality in 1U network service appliance. Two Intel® QuickPath Interconnects running up to 8.0GT/s speeds which can
combine with Intel® Xeon® E5-2600 series processor (Socket R) in their respective two sockets can reduce cross-socket memory I/O latencies
and increase throughput. Two E5-2600 series processor with up to 8 cores, 20MB cache and latest PCIe 3.0 interface which provide a total of
80 PCIe lanes up to 8Gbps per lane. Each CPU socket supports 4 DDR3 channels with speeds up to 1600 MHz and maximum capacity up to
128 GB of ECC memory when using the latest LR DIMM technology.
The Intel® C604 chipset supports standard platform I/O and highest speed mass storage which supports two 2.5” SATA hard disks or solid state
drives with damping. The SCB-9610 platform can offer different types of Ethernet ports; such as 10Gigabit SFP+, Gigabit copper (by-pass
function for option) and Gigabit fiber ports. The max capacity can provide 9 GbE ports and 12 10GbE ports. Two PCI Gen3 slots support max
four Cavium Nitrox III chips module to provide hardware level cryptographic acceleration which can leave more CPU computing power for
higher layer packet processing.
