Marcia Brandes has over 30 years experience working with artists and photographers to prepare
artwork for publication. She has extensive experience using Adobe Photoshop to correct, improve,
and modify artwork, with special emphasis on color correction and enhancing detail. She has
produced numerous catalog presentations in Adobe Acrobat pdf format, using both Photoshop and
InDesign for layout. She is also a semi-professional photographer, having sold her work to
furniture stores, hotels, and condominium developments. She and her business partner offer giclee
printing services on both canvas and paper using the Epson 9800 and the Epson 4000.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Owner, Phoenix Galleries Inc, Atlanta, GA 1975 to Sept 2008
 Worked with in-house and contract artists to develop paintings, collages, and giclee
prints for sale in the home furnishings industry throughout the US
 Prepared artwork for print, including scanning, color correction, sharpening,
and cropping
 Used multiple layer and blending techniques to stitch panorama photographs
 Produced giclee prints on canvas and paper for wholesale clients
 Created media kits, PR releases, sales brochures, and trade magazine ads
 Did studio photography for product sale materials, including all straightening,
cropping, and color correction
 Shot landscape and wildlife photography for condo and hotel developments
 Converted color to black and white, sepia, and duotone for period-look photography
 Created special effects for printing such as age spots, deckle edging, and texturizing
 Designed color print catalog, CD catalog, and web site presentation formats

 After selling our primary manufacturing business in 2008, we have set up a home-based
publishing business to print giclee reproductions on canvas and paper
 Have self-published four travel photography books using Photoshop for layout
