 Now a day about 42 thousand metric tons of
tobacco is produced annually in this country
 About 65 thousand hectares of land Apart
from Rangpur, Kushtia, also cultivated in
Jessore, Rajshahi, Sylhet, Bogra and
Mymensingh areas.

 Tobacco is one of the most popular economical
crops in Bangladesh.
 Tobacco cultivation of farmers of (Rangpur and
Kushtia) plays a special role in this economy of
this country.
 The government earns significant amount of
revenue from tobacco and tobacco products
every year.

 Tobacco Origin South America There is enough
tobacco in the United States, China, India, the
Soviet Union, Brazil, Japan, Turkey etc. Most of
the tobacco is grown almost everywhere in
Bangladesh.
 In Bangladesh especially in the northern region,
tobacco is widely cultivated during the Rabi
season.

used for the purpose of

temperature.
 Annual rainfall of 1400-2100 mm is good for
tobacco cultivation.

ovulation.

green, the leaf is broke from
tree by hand.
 Should not break more than
1-3 leaf per plant at a time.

 Dry in shade
In this method, to make tobacco
leaves dry, bamboo poles can be
made in the house by ropes
vertically. The leaves of tobacco are
kept hanging with a rope
 Heat dry
For this process there is a special
type of house it called Barn House.
Generally, the burn house is small,
medium and large this three types,
heat Ventilators are kept in the
furnace and air for the flow.
