C – child's jacket, red hat, showing innocence in the
child, making audience empathise with the kid
L – Dark scenes in the forest to build tension and the
use of flashlights attacking the kid and trying to find
him.
A – Child actors used to represent innocence and helps
the audience connect to the actor.
M – Make up isn’t used a lot in the video to ground the
video in reality to make the surprise of the kid being
supernatural mean more and is weighted heavier.
P – The bike represents the escape from childhood and
the change into adulthood and the hat represents the
child trying to cling onto his innocence and childhood
as it is in every scene with the child, from start to
finish.
S – The use of cutting up the indoor and outdoor scenes
alternating to represent the kid never settles and
becomes comfortable. The use of the house scene (a
comfortable and safe place to him) being on of the
smallest scenes to show he never feels safe, not even at

In the opening scene, the main
character is seen in the foetal
position. This represents the
innocence in childhood and shows the
cyclical cycle of the video.
The following scene shows the main
character in the centre of the shot, in
the middle square in the rule of
thirds. This shows he is the most
important thing in the frame and
shows the audience we should focus
on him.
The powerful shot of the bike
escaping the camera shot and being
to quick for the camera represents
the child's escapism and running
away from childhood.
This shot of the bike shows the lack
of identity in the main character as
he wants to hide his face from
everyone after what he accidently
done at the school.
The shot of the main character in his home
shows we should be focussing on the
background as the main character is not in the
centre of the frame. From the surroundings, we
can infer that he has a bad/rough upbringing as
the house id a mess and hasn’t been cleaned for
a while.

analysis
This shot of the main character
walking in the woods represents the
isolation that the character feels as
he is alone with no other characters
on screen and the viewer is supposed
to focus on the scenery first as the
main character is not in the focus of
the shot.
This shot also shows the isolation of
the character as he is in the
background of the shot and the only
thing that is pointing him out in the
whole shot is his red hat.
This shot of the main character
running away from the lights shows
the light attacking and breaching the
shot, representing how the main
character cant escape as the lights
will always find him.
The final shot of the music video
makes the video become full circle as
the child is shown in the foetal
position again, as he was in the first
scene of the music video.
