1. Topics on My Factual
In the factual projects I had different ideas of what I could make but I was
mainly focused on doing a film review, the reason for this because films are
a massive part of peoples lives today, the biggest box office franchise at the
moment is marvel and as the word seems fixed on marvel movies people
seem to be praising them more and more, I watched videos on YouTube of
people reviewing movies and saw how they did it, there are some that are
entertaining even if you disagree with them because of how they edit or put
after affects together or even if they have a hint of comedy, from this I knew
that this is something that I am interested in and an option for my factual
project, another idea I had was making a factual piece on how the gaming
industry has developed over the past years, both options to do it right would
require lots of research, long time writing a good script that is memorable
and more time editing my work to put it all together, on top of that I will
need to search for the right clips to use and at the right time.
From previous work I know what I would need to do to discuss about films
and what types of composition to go into with what I’m reviewing I can
look into the props used, the colours, the imagery and what different things
in the film represent.
I have worked so that my factual piece has reached the expectations and
conventions set for the factual project, I have done this as I spent lots of
time putting a script together and finding clips to co inside with the script on
the parts of the movie that I chose to talk about, A shame was the timing
that the short film had to be I was sadly only able to fit in two category’s but
I could have gone on to full documentary length as I had planned to talk
about visuals, character design, character development and final view, with
more time I would also have been able to go more in depth into the subjects
that I actually did talk about which was comedy and plot. I have transition
slide animations that took time to make and I feel as they took time to make,
I could have had more of this for different transitions on my work as if I had
more time.
I spent a lot of time exploring content while making this factual piece,
explored different styles of how people have made similar products what
they talk about and what types of language they use to discuss, I felt
language to be an important part of the review because the more intelligent
someone sounds the more likely we are to listen to them.
