• Whilst producing my magazine I have gained a lot of new knowledge from programs like Photoshop and Word
format. Throughout making my magazine I have realised it takes a lot of time to put a magazine together.
• Whilst using photo shop I have learnt how to improve skin tone to airbrush and tone my main image, I made my
main image tanned which is a typical convention of pop celebrities. I also used crop edges to focus more on my
main images face. I sharpened and Brightened my image to make it stand out more, making her eyes more blue
and drawing the audience in.
• I used word picture format to blur and soften the edges on my photo on my double page spread to create a
blending effect.
• I have learnt that Photoshop and word picture format make your photo more distinctive and stand out more and
are key for a successful magazine.

• I have also learnt how to construct my front page, putting most of the information in the left hand third. This is the way the
audience reads which therefore will attract a lot of attention. Therefore, I have put freebies in the left hand third.
• When constructing my double page spread I was influenced by a double page spread from top of the pops as I believed
having the main image in the top left hand corner was most effective as it draws my audiences attention to the main image
which will consequently make the audience carry on reading. I followed the same colour scheme of pink and blue in my
double page spread it relates to the front image and gives a clear link. By including quotes with a main feature the audience
get drawn to it and want to find out why she has said what’s within the quote. By including secondary images it makes the
article more interesting and not like a block of text that the audience may look at and think is boring.
• For my contents page I have used the main image that relates to the article so that my reader will recognise it. By including
the page number in large the audience know straight away what number to go to. The secondary images add interest and
familiar to my target audience. The idea of having the front cover included on the contents page I thought brought
everything together and tells you where to find the related articles mentioned on the front.
