buyers in construction, corporate and public sectors
• Recent programmes: Fit for Legacy, Business Lab,
Ready to Supply the City, Build Havering
• Current programme: Building Legacies
14. So how have we done so far …?
• We’ve worked with over 4000 SMEs since 2008

15. Building Legacies
• Delivering in partnership with Newham College

– Construction
– Digital/Creative
– Care/Professional Services
– Other
• Base hubs in Canary Wharf and Stratford Business Lab
• Opportunities for local SMMEs for growth support – AND potential
access to buyers on Canary Wharf & QEOP etc ….
• FREE programme (3 years!)
• Open to SME businesses trading in a London postcode
16. So how can we help you get ‘fit-to-supply’?…
• Simple registration form
• Business Diagnostic & Action Plan
• Tailored support (121 and workshops)
– Business Planning

17. Doing the right thing …..
• All our programmes predicated on quality, not quantity
• Far more stringent validation of SMME capability and
commitment (especially construction)
• Only engaging with Buyers with realistic procurement
opportunities
• Only working with SMEs who ‘meet us halfway’
• Programme looking at less SMMEs, but with more time
for tailored coaching & mentoring
– 400 SMEs over 3 years
• No room for ‘one-size-fits-all’ or ‘box-ticking’
