2. Who or What IsA Bully?
A BULLY is a person who tries to (or even) hurt
others by:
Making them feel uncomfortable.
Kicking, hitting, pushing, tripping, or doing other
mean things to them.
Name-calling.
Spreading nasty rumors.
The bully hurts the other person over and over.
Nobody deserves to be bullied. EVER

Verbal Bullying
Saying MEAN things such as:
Name Calling
• By saying “LOSER!!!” or “You’re FAT!” or
“Your momma is UGLY!
Threatening you
• By saying “Wait until after school …”

Physical Bullying
– Hitting, kicking, biting, scratching, pushing,
tripping someone down on purpose
– Anyone that hurts someone by touching
them is physical bullying
– this is also a criminal offence so
REMEMBER nobody is allowed to hit anyone
5. Indirect Bullying
– Ignoring someone
• Leaving someone out or not allowing them to join in a
game
– Spreading Rumours
• Talking about someone “behind their back” often
making up stories or saying things that are not true
– “The bad eyes”
• someone glaring or giving you threatening looks (this
could be very difficult to prove but can be just as
distressing)

– Internet abuse
• Using social networking sites to show embarrassing pictures,
embarrass others, set up groups and encourage others to take
part in bullying online
– Instant Messenger
– Abusive text messages
• sending nasty text messages to intimidatesomeone
– “Happy Slapping”
• this is when you use a phone or a video camera and film someone
being slapped or attacked unknowingly
– Silent or abusive phone calls
7. How does the person being BULLIEDfeel?
• He or she might feel smaller or weaker than the
bully.
• He or she might feel outnumbered by the bully
and the bully's friends.
• He or she often feels very sad, but does not know
how to change the situation.
• He or she might feel there is no help:
– No one to talk to.
– No one is standing up for him or her.

– Sometimes they want to impress or entertain
their friends.
– Sometimes they enjoy feeling power over
someone because sometimes they are being
bullied by someone else!
