Who would be the audience for your media product?
The age that my magazine is aimed at is the
age of 16 to 30, it is aimed at both males and
females but mainly males. My aim was to
attract individuals who enjoy listening to the
genre’s alternative and indie and also
someone who enjoys the current releases and
also the old releases. Also people who want to
be kept up to date on the latest news in music,
gigs and festivals. From my research I found
that my magazine will be mainly aimed at
Young Alternatives. Young Alternatives are
people who like to get out of the mainstream
or to be different and are into different types
of music which is mainly what the Alternative
genre is about. Young Alternatives like listening
to other genres too and are into different
scenes which are both old and new. So I feel
that having these people who like the old and
new music and want to be different would suit
my magazine really well. From the research at
the start I feel that I would change my
audience as I started out with having Emo’s
and Young Alternatives, but over time I
realised that I should of aimed my magazine
at Indie Scenesters instead of Emo’s as Indie
Scenesters are the type of people who like
getting into latest music and people who
enjoy going to festivals and most of the things
that I talk about in my magazine. If I had this
mixture of people my audience would be
perfect for my magazine and I am sure this
would be the type of people who would buy
my magazine. This is also the type of music that
I am into and listen too and as I said having
the mixture of the two groups would be
perfect to aim my magazine at and I feel that I
have qualities from both of these groups which
is why I am sure both of these groups would
enjoy my magazine

Going to gigs and festivals,

Cameron would be a great example
to aim my magazine at. He enjoys
listening to alternative music and is
also into different genres from the
past and present, he likes going to
gigs and loves going to festivals when
they come around in the summer. He
is also a mixture of Young Alternatives
and Indie Scenesters.
I used UK Tribes to help with my
Audience Research. It also helped
me to find out what type of people
my magazine will be aimed at. From
this website I found out the my
magazine will be aimed at Young
Alternatives as I believed that this
type of group would read my
magazine.
After this research I found out what
my magazine will be aimed at which
is ages 16 to 30 and males and
females but mainly males. I haven’t
changed anything from the start as I
feel that everything suits my
magazine.

From the research at the start I feel that I would change my audience as I started out with having Emo’s and Young Alternatives, but over time I realised that I should of aimed my magazine at Indie Scenesters instead of Emo’s as Indie Scenesters are the type of people who like getting into latest music and people who enjoy going to festivals and most of the things that I talk about in my magazine. If I had this mixture of people my audience would be perfect for my magazine and I am sure this would be the type of people who would buy my magazine. This is also the type of music that I am into and listen too and as I said having the mixture of the two groups would be perfect to aim my magazine at and I feel that I have qualities from both of these groups which is why I am sure both of these groups would enjoy my magazine Name: Cameron Letts Age: 16 Interests: Spending time with friends, Going to gigs and festivals, Alternative music Cameron would be a great example to aim my magazine at. He enjoys listening to alternative music and is also into different genres from the past and present, he likes going to gigs and loves going to festivals when they come around in the summer. He is also a mixture of Young Alternatives and Indie Scenesters. I used UK Tribes to help with my Audience Research. It also helped me to find out what type of people my magazine will be aimed at. From this website I found out the my magazine will be aimed at Young Alternatives as I believed that this type of group would read my magazine. After this research I found out what my magazine will be aimed at which is ages 16 to 30 and males and females but mainly males. I haven’t changed anything from the start as I feel that everything suits my magazine.
