The global food distribution model is broken and needs to be fixed. There are four main components of food security - availability, stability, access, and utilization. Modular Farms addresses these issues by providing a solution for localized food production using modular farming units. Their system includes the Modular Farm foundation unit along with additional complimentary modules that allow for crop diversity and scalability. Modular Farms aims to make farm-to-table a reality by growing food locally anywhere through their controlled environment agriculture technology.
2. The Problem
The Four Main Components of
Food Security
Lack of Availability
There should be a reliable and consistent
source of quality food
Lack of Stability
People should have the ability to
access and utilize food that remains
stable and sustained over time
Lack of Access
People should have sufficient
resources to produce and/or
purchase food
Lack of Utilization
People should have the knowledge
and basic sanitary conditions
to choose, prepare, and distribute
food in a way that results in good nutrition
3. The Solution
Addressing & Providing
Food Security
Availability
Modular Farms literally grows food
where the consumer is, making
farm-to-fork a reality
Stability
Modular Farms provide locally
accessible and relevant, ready-to-consume
food that is always grown sustainably, no matter
the environmental or economical climate
Access
Modular Farms provides farmers and
everyday people access to technology
to grow their own food or buy
locally grown food
year round
Utilization
Modular Farms are food safe
certified, do not require a degree or
extensive training to operate, and grow
safe, nutritious and traceable food

5. The Modular Farm System
7 Complimentary and Connectable Farming Modules
Each module serves a unique purpose in the diversity and scalability of a farm
01. Modular Farm The foundation unit, and the first Module a farmer will start with
02. Vestibule A clean room, office, extra storage, module connector, etc. Whatever its use, it’s a crucial addition to the Modular Farm
03. Macro Farm Wall-to-wall ZipGrow Towers, in the same footprint as the Modular Farm, means up to 50% more yields
04. Micro Grid Supplement your farm’s energy consumption on the grid, or run it off the grid entirely
05. Water Capture Store extra water, or collect ambient or rain water when required
06. Micro Farm A horizontal hydroponic system to start seeds and grow crops like microgreens and sprouts
07. Cold Storage When getting your harvest to market right away isn’t an option
